Carriage Works Billet Grill hummmmm....

I just installed a Carraige Works Billet grill (upper and lower) and I now have a humming sound at speeds above 45-50 mph. this morning on the way to work I was trying to decide where and what it was coming from. I came up on another truck and the sound went away.......making me think that "drafting" made the sound go away, therefore it is the grill.

Does anyone else have this problem?

I think i had the same problem with my cw grille. I took off the bug deflector when i put the shaker on and it went away. The hum wasnt constant but it was annoying.

I had that problem, but it was because the grille was touching the shell on one end and it wasnt on the other end. It was barely touching, and was almost not noticeable. I repositioned the grill so its exactly centered in the shell and the noise went away.

I have both upper and lower CW billet grilles, as well as the OEM low-profile bug sheild and luckily I have experienced NO rattles with either the grille or bug sheild even at speeds of 80+.

Maybe take off the grilles and start over, making sure everything is centered and bolts are tightened completely.

Good luck!
