I believe someone already discussed this before and found out the CV axles will last 250,000 miles or something like that with the added "stress" from a leveling kit it might make you wear them out at 200,000 miles at worse. Most of us arn't going to keep our trucks even that long so why worry about it. Theres quite a few that are using the leveling kit as a temporary fix untill we can buy a full suspension lift as this is the case with me.

I pulled the kit out yesterday, and I am glad I did. I will be posting pictures of unsual wear on the lower control arm and coils. I am glad I made the decision I did. The truck clearly handles better and the turning radius is much improved. Those of you who think it still has the factory ride with a leveling kit installed should come drive my truck to do a comparison. Completely different truck... Denial is not just a river in Egypt. Good luck to all of you who leave it in there... I am glad mine is out.

I'm glad you're happy. You've been sweatin' the leveling kit ever since you took it in to have the alignment and the mechanic told you all his stories of doom and gloom. Maybe you'll be able to sleep better now. Seven months is a long time with no sleep.

Sounds like you removed the kit just in the nick of time before catastrophic destruction occurred, likely to careen you off the road into multiple rollovers down a steep rocky embankment killing you and everyone you love. Everyone else has just gotten lucky I guess.

ahhh to be young again. youth knows no patience.

my truck won't even be broken in after 5 years. i drove my piece of junk hyundai (sorry... i hated it) for 11 years. i'm sure i can get an easy 20 out of my f150.

as far as leveling kits being unproven for long term use. Revtek, Daystar and Cornfed have been making spacer kits for Toyota Tacoma and 4Runners since they came out with the very similar coil over strut design in 1996, if you go ask questions on TacomaTerritor you'll find many have had spacer kits on for 8-9 years and 200,000+ miles with the worst problems being premature cv boot and cv joint wear, but most with no problems at all. to me the truck rides much better with the spacers, stock it feels sagged and drooping

Actually, I removed the kit because I wasn't comfortable with it, and after looking at the wear on my vehicle, I feel I made the right decision. Why can't there be a middle gournd in this discussion? I am comfortable without it... you may be comfortable with them installed... Everyone is happy.

Hey I'm glad you're happy with your decision. You're making a bigger deal out of it than you need to though which is why I was poking fun, no harm intended.
