wouldn't it be cool if ford could have programmed your lights to come on when you use your windshield wipers. i had to drive about 45 min ( 10 miles, 5 inches of rain in 5 hours) though what was left of the hurricane this week. it was about 7 pm and my auto lights still didnt come on. It would be nice to have them come on when the wipers are used. This would be a heck of a lot cheaper than a "rain sensor" C'mon Ford - get on the ball

my dad had the wiper/light sensor on his lincoln...in two years it was replaced 4 times... he ended up saying screw, it, i'll turn my lights on manually (this was back in 02/3)

use the wiper motor and relay it to the lights so you can control the strobe pattern

Ummm, I guess its what ever you like. My grand cherokee had it back in 00 and it wasn't that big of a deal.

Just put a piece of tape over your light sensor and then your lights will stay on all the time.

I think in NY it is the law to have lights on with wipers.....maybe the manufacturers should all have to have this feature.

That might sound good in theory but I bet a lot of folks wouldn't like it if their headlights came on everytime the windshield wipers were turned on. I like being able to control them separately.

well why doesnt ford save money then and take out the auto light feature.

I'm not too lazy to turn them on as i often do when i think light condtions warrant it and they have not automaticaly turned on. i just think it would be a cool feature as lights are required when its raining.

I live in a very well lit city. Too often people here forget to turn on their lights at night so I personally like the auto light feature but the sensor is not nearly as sensitive as it needs to be.

In allot of Luxury cars they both just come on automoatically.
Rainsense wipers and the same auto lights that we already have.
All it would need is the rainsense wipers.

yea and i can also call AAA whenver i need to start my truck.

there's no need to be an A$$. I just think Ford half a$$es some of their options. Thats why half the posts here are from lariat owners whining about something on their "$35,000 truck"

I have an masters in engineering - i know how to work the lights. Hence why i said "wouldn't it be cool if..." I was hoping someone would have a clever way to rig this.
