Or with every bolt on in the book...it maybe faster (or maybe "not as slow" is a better term) but its still not going to be fast. If you wanted a race car you should have bought something thats fast to start with...then the speed mods make a lot more since.

Not trying to kill the thread....I am just agreeing with jcc.

I think he meant 0 - 60 mph, not 0 - 60 feet.

That would've been a great 0 - 60 mph time though.

Don't be so hard on bofer, If I wanted to race against Camaro's, I would've bought a mustang, since we have full-size pick ups, what's so bad about wanting to beat the competition, I may be immature, but I get a kick out of stories of F-150's beating Hemi's with a couple of cheap bolt on's, So just like NASCAR and Motocross, there are different classes of cars/trucks, and competiton shall be created between them. If guys didn't get a kick out of racing trucks, there would be no NASCAR TRUCK series. I Say rock on, and to hell with Hemi's! Can anyone on here really say they WOULDN'T get a kick of beating a ****y 16 year old in his Hemi?

YES, I DO DRIVE MY TRUCK LIKE A RACE CAR! AND DAMN PROUD OF IT!

Right on Ragged!!! It's fun to fix up any vehicle-truck or car. The point here is that it's fun to beat the competition in your own class

Nobody will ever beat you if you don't race

No whats lame is spending $1000s of dollars on a truck (to make it faster) that by its nature is not fast. His question was directly related to performance acceleration...0-60. If you "shaved" .5 second off the 0-60 on these trucks 80% of the cars on the road will still out run it. Look at it this way...you bought the truck for something besides it speed and performance (you had to have or you would have went with another choice...probably a car). Spend your money to make what you liked about the truck to start with better. Its ok to do performance mods to help it out but dont expect their to be a magic pill that makes your truck a sports car.

My wifes 4 banger Camry will smoke these trucks and that car surely isn't a racing machine. I was driving the Camry one day I raced a Screw w/a 5.4 from a stop light just for giggles. He didn't have a chance. My 4.6 wouldn't even have done that well.

Let me share my experience with this. The company I work for is loaded with truck guys, mostly Fords , with a couple Chevy's and my friends Dodge. Every year before winter we have two 3000 lb enclosed tandem axle trailers that get put into storage. The get moved from our warehouse to a storage lot about 10 miles away. My buddy with his Hemi Ram and my 5.4 F150 were "volunteered" to tow the trailers to storage.

Both trailers were empty we were only pulling the curb weight of each trailer. My buddy, of course, started bragging about how he would pull circles around me all the way to storage. All I said was "we'll see", and we hit the road. The first few lights he would rev it up and pull away on the green while I took it easy. After about 4 lights I decided it was time to teach him a lesson. He revved up, I turned off OD, and planted my foot on the green. I did this 3 times and each time I pulled away by at least 2 truck lengths before he got up to speed.

He was stunned that his Hemi couldn't beat me off the line with a load. That's the benefit of having most of my torque available at idle. He doesn't brag too much anymore, and the Chevy guys at the shop don't even bother to try and beat me with a load.

Long post but I thought some of you would enjoy reading this.

If I had a nickle for every "Dude, I smoked a 'Insert Vehicle Here' yesterday at the light. He didn't have a chance man, SIX carlengths, I swear!!, and he had one of those new 'Insert Vehicle Suffix Here (S.S., GT, GTi, Turbo, SSR, whatever). How impressive And I'm SURE it was a fair race....Stoplight to stoplight........in the rain........with traffic.......and you BOTH knew you were racing, right?

I'm not referring to anybody here on this forum, but you all have heard this same b*****it before, usually from your best buddies.
