My old truck ran mid 14s and took most of the stuff on the street easily. Most trucks and dodges, etc. wouldn't even stand a chance. Even raced some toyotas and a suburban... Think I surpised that guy. lol

Most vehicles on the road are not fast... the run 16s and the only thing I really want to be able to beat are the buzz bomb ricers out there with the 6" exhaust. I know some are fast but I know most of those people so I stay away from them

I hope to be able to get my new truck to run hellbound times though. That would be awesome.

For the most part you'll notice people with the SCREWS whining about being "slow" (which annoys the hell outta me) more than the reg. cab owners. I think reg. cabs are sweet. It's like going to the dealership and asking for the lightest truck with the biggest engine. Of course then you will be happier with the trucks perfromance, especially if you adds some aftermarket ponies....my brothers 99 chevy single cab hauls ***.....why, because when he bought it he said exactly that... big engine and single cab please.

No, T-Bird I really wasn't referring to you. I guess it kind of looked that way because you had shared a racing story with us right before my post. No, like I said in my post, I wasn't referring specifically to anyone here. We cool???

I was mostly referring to "that one guy" at work (c'mon, you all know him) Who swears his Fart-Piped Civic took a new Vette or Lightning or something stupid like that.

And yes, my best buddy thinks his 94 Trans Am is obviously THE fastest car in town....His mod list consists of a K&N filter. That's it.

Pretty sure that's what he's talking about...

If you want to spend the money, then you can make your truck fast.

Pretty sure Mike T, one of the lightning tuners, and definately Sean Hyland (who builds awesome mod motors) could make your truck fast.

misato hit the nail on the head.

Why doesn't someone get some barrels of VP U4 or something, and fill their truck up, with a tune along for that high of octane and see what it can do. Sure it'd be expensive as hell for one tank but hey its just money...

These trucks are pretty quick, I have beat a dodge.... and yes he know we were racing. I have also beat a chevy, he knew too. I have a buddy with a nissan sentra SER, it is a fast car and will beat or stick most things on the road, He and I are dead even to 100mph. My truck in no means will compair to a vett, or a cobra. but hell its a truck, and could they even move with 9K in tow!
going to the track this week should have 0-60 times then.

Yeah, if you have a screw model, it will be crappy. However, if you decide to boost....it is worth it.

Whipple got a 2004 Supercab 2WD Lariat w/ 3.55's and stock 32.70" tires on 18" wheels to click off a 14.2 1/4 ET WITH wheel spin on an installed Whipple supercharger system and a tune.

Thank the 3 valve system for that. These engines will see far greater gains on boost than any competitor truck out there.

BTW, my truck bone stock ran a 15.3@90mph when it was new. No mods at that time. At this time I am still naturally aspirated and easily pulling off low 14's at the track with spin.

All in all, I have 1700.00 in mods put into my truck. I special ordered it with a Reg Cab Short Bed, 5.4L 3V, 3.73LS diff on a baseline model. No power anything. I paid a total of 18,995.00 sale price. After rebates and trade in of my 98 F150 (perfect condition) I financed 12,345.00 for my truck.

Since then I purchased a set of Lariat wheels on ebay for 250.00 and installed all of my mods, lowered it for 135.00 on a 2/3 drop and it looks killer. $$$ isnt always the issue unless you want TV's, big stereo, captains chairs and yadda, yadda, yadda.
