Angry I feel like an idiot

So this morning when I was leaving for work I was exhausted. Like an idiot I rolled down my driver's side window to fold my mirror in so I could leave the garage. Whats the problem with that you might ask?

Well I just had the front windows re-tinted yesterday to take out some bubbles that didn't dry out. The tint still looks flat and isn't noticeably peeled up. Am I in for a suprise in two days when I try to roll that window down again? Geese I feel stupid.

24 hours for a tint to dry should be fine... did you leave it out in the sun yesterday? Should be a-OK. It's rolling down the windows hours after a tint that screws it up. If it looks fine now, it will look fine tomorrow and the next day and the next day and the next day and the...

Well thats the ****ty thing.....it was done around 2:00pm yesterday and it rained with only two 30 minute intervals of sunlight untill today where it is sitting outside in the sun. I'm really hoping it didn't pull down at the top edge of the window.

"hey...don't roll down your windows"... well this is my first tint and no one told me anyhow...long story short...rolled it back up... let it sit for 3 days...and it looks as good as when they put it on...no harm, no foul

Just did the same thing!!!!

I had my windows tinted monday @ 3pm so will they still be alright? I rolled the window down last night after work @ 1am. I hope so, I totally forgot about the tint untill after it was to late . The tint shop told me 3-5 days and could take up to 21 days to dry. I had 35% done on the driver and passenger windows. I wanted 20% but they only do what the law will allow.

Thanks Ian

Hi Duke--look on the bright side--you could have been so caught up in NOT rolling down the window, leaving your mirror out, and ripping off the mirror. I have rolled down my windows the same day as they were tinted and nothing happened. The tinting shops just want to cover themselves by asking to leave them up for a couple of days.

It is only going to matter if the window touches the inside seal.
I have had windows done on quite a few cars/trucks, and have never been told not to run the windows down.
Heck, on the last one I had done, the guy ran the driver window down himself while I was standing there.
It might be how they do it, or the fact that I have never had it done in anything less that 95 degree dry weather.

If anyone had ever mentioned it I would have popped my window fuse, but again, never had anyone even suggest it.

Has anyone here ruined their window tint by dropping it too soon?
Chris

Sounds like your windows will be fine, if they look good now, they will look good later.
I had my daughters Ranger windows tinted a few weeks back, they but tape on the window buttons that said do not roll down for 48 hours.

Take a heat gun or good hairdryer to outside of window....better yet a heat lamp. That will speed up the process and pull out some of the spots. I guess that is one good thing about Arizona....no problems with sun and heat.

When I had my first car, I had the windows tinted. And I accidently, out of shear habit, rolled the drivers side window down a few hours after. Never did a thing to it. But I wouldnt recommend rolling them down to test your luck either! Hopefully yours will be fine!
