How much did the dealer charge you? i got a XL and i want an XLT cluster so i can have a tach. Its sitting on the desk right in front of me. I put it in and the truck wouldnt start. I got it for $50 from a wrecking yard.

I just finished changing out my 04 lariats kilometer cluster for a Miles per hour one. The cluster cost me 280.00 + a 400.00 core charge. They progarmed in the correct odometer reading before it was sent to the dealership. Then, after it arrived and I put it in, I had to have it progammed again. That cost $80.00. Actually the first cluster was bad and we had to send it back.
After it was all done, I sent the origional cluster back to get my 400.00 back.

Ok so here is a question that I have on this thread. I have an 05 expedition that didn't come with Message Center. I went out an purchased a switch for the expy and of course it didn't work. So then I read somewhere online that I needed to get a Speedometer cluster with Message center. So I went out and bought one of those. Installed it today and still no Message Center working and now it keeps popping up lights for 4wd (which I don't have on my expy) so if I get this programmed will it then work with the message center or do I still have to run additional wires to the harness? Please let me know as I tried to look at the pictures but they aren't anywhere to be found. Pictures would be greatly appreciated so I can see if the harness that was on my Expy needs the additional wiring.
