2005 F-150 already in the shop.......

That's right, my brand new (2 months old) truck with 3,000 miles on it is in the shop. I took it in because a "Trans Fault" error showed up on the lcd. Called the dealer and they said bring it in now. Turns out the Torque converter and shift solenoid in the tranny are shot to hell. I'm quite frankly shocked that this has happened. I read alot about these trucks and no where did I see anything about tranny issues.
On top of that the dealer has the audacity to put me in a Ford focus rental for the last 2 days while they do the work. WTF is up with that? I got pissed enough to call about it and all they can tell me is that, "Well, we only pay $28 per day for a rental". So basically, I shell out about $28k for a brand new truck, it breaks by no fault of my own and now I get this POS to drive?

Anyone else have tranny issues?

Where's that Chevy dealer near me?? J/k

Sucks for you....

Just be glad they gave you a loner at all. They are not required to give you one.

You are not the only one to shell out money for a new truck, and experiance problems. A friend of mine has a titan and its been in the shop or broke in the driveway more than 1/2 his ownership of the vehicle.

You win some, you loose some.

I can sympathize with you. I just got my 04 F-150 out of the shop for the second time in 2 weeks. First, it was supposed to be the transceiver for the anti-theft stuff, and then the PCM went while I was out of state in it and it took 11 days to get it fixed. In the meantime, I had a 05 Chevy Silverado CC for a rental. Nice truck, that Chevy.

No tranny problems but had to have the throttle body replaced at 1600 miles. My dealer loaned me an 04 f150 of the used lot. Good luck.

Loaner??? That's funny. I took my 05' FX4 in today, asked for a courtesy vehicle... He's like, the van is out currently taking other customers... It seems you drop 38k on a Ford, they hang you out to dry. You get a Lexus or Volvo, or some other higher dollar vehicle, you get basically what you brought in for service.

Thats so very true..........

I had my 2004 in for transmission problems, They had it for 2 weeks.

I too was sentenced to a term in the "GAY FOCUS". Outside of its great mileage, I saw no upside to being in that car. How ever, It made me appreciate my F150 that much more when I got it back.

I wanted to complain, But try to imagine how you would feel if they put you in a Lincoln Navigator with all the bells and whistles then gave you your truck back?

I LOVE my F150 and have nothing but pitty for the focus crowd..........Poor bastards

mines only about a month old with 3700 miles. Dropped it off Monday, to get the reflash, oil change, dome light rattle, and fix my passanger side window. The window motor made a loud grown ever since I picked the truck up. It's now wednesday still no motor yet. At least you got a focus. I have a 2000 taurus loaner, power door locks don't work, motor mounts are shot, and it's pretty dirty inside. Name of the rental comany it is from is "Rent a Wreck" go figure.

I told him about the issues with the loaner. He said he could get me another one. So I asked what it would be, and he said another focus. Apparently this rental place only deals with taurus'. Think is a POS. It idles so high that it is a pain in the a$$ to drive. It does 15mph with just putting it in gear. Gets to the 15 real damn fast. Driving in traffic sucks.

I heard that Chevrolets NEVER have ANY mechanical problems, sounds like you bought the wrong brand of truck.

Well, my 05 4x4 King Ranch F150 was in for a couple of days to get the cam phaser fixed. They gave me a focus station wagon. I was happy they gave me something to drive---even if it was a focus---I guess I am too laid back....BTW Krohbar---my wife has an 03 BMW M3 convertible. It was recalled because it needed new main bearings and piston rods--they wanted to give her a Kia for a loaner....so no--not always does it work that way. After much complaining and ranting, we got a loaner X3---good thing because the BMW dealer had the car 7 (yes SEVEN) weeks fixing it--no doubt due to shortage of staff--and possibly experience, but it was seven weeks--which is absolutely crazy, but at least we had a decent loaner.
