I was just thinking the badges on the side of the trucks with f-150 on them by the fender. I was thinking how the lariats and the XLT's have lariat or XLT on them and the FX4's dont have FX4 on them. right beside the engine size. Sorry if this is a stupid question but I have to know.

XL, XLT and Lariat are trim levels. FX4 is just an add-on option package, as is the STX package and Sport package.

 

Not anymore. FX4 is a trim level now. It was since 04+.

XL,STX,XLT,FX4,Lariat,King Ranch, Mark LT.

Those are the trim levels on the new f150. Mark lt is a stretch but it basically is a trim level.
You can not get an XL FX4 or a Lariat FX4 or a King ranch FX4. Therefore it is a trim level.

 

thats because STX and FX4 get those nifty scratch and sniff stickers on the back panel.

 

Mark LT isnt a trim level. Its a model.

KR is an option package on the Lariat

 

The old body style had a lariat fx4 package. Now the Fx4 is its own, its pretty much a sport version of the lariat with some differences its not as luxurious but is more sporty looking.
What do you meen scratch and sniff stickers they all have stickers on the side. Except on the metal thing on the side it says lariat.

 

I didn't know that my stickers were "scratch and sniff", I'll be right back...............yep you're right, they smell like chicken......

Why would you want that nice chrome badge to have FX4 on it when you can have that gawdy water tattoo on the rear quarters? Stop questioning it, Ford knows what you want!
