Leather shifter **** from the KR/LT....

For those of you with the floor shifter would you like to have the leather like the King Ranch/LT?

I have my Ford guy looking into the feasibility of switching out the plain gray looking shifter **** for the King Ranch matching leather ****. Same chrome accents - just where the gray plastic is on the Lariat is color coordinated leather on the KR. He told me the LT has the same leather and has ordered a shifter handle to see what it will take. My price in the new shifter handle (with leather) is going to be in the low $40 dollar range so this could be an easy, inexpensive and high visual impact upgrade......will keep you informed as I find out more info.

I bought just the shifter **** (5L3Z-7213-AA for ebony), and it was like $6 my cost. Just haven't gotten around to modifying it to fit.

Got the shifter as well ($7) but I have no idea how to retrofit. It was the leather wrapped handle but no trigger. Im just waiting for someone else to post thier experiment, Im way to chicken to try myself.

There is an earlier post from someone who did this. He gave a detailed description of what he did with a dremel tool to make it work, and had pics. Can't remember what the name of the thread was.

I heard that the tan leather in the 05 is different than the tan leather in the 04. I have an 05 with tan interior so I'm thinking it should match the LT tan leather right? I also wonder how tan leather would look on that shift ****. I agree that the black leather looks awesome on the shifter...but tan I'm not so sure. Any pics out there of people who did the conversion with a tan leather shifter? Many thanks! 1 to 10 how hard is this mod?

The leather in an LT isn't tan, it's kinda cream colored, off-whitish. Doesn't come close to matching tan leather in an F150.

I agree the seats don't. But if you look at the picture of the tan interior on the Lincoln.com website you see that the leather on the shifter is a darker tan to match the dash. Which looks the exact same dash color as the 05 f150
