I love my UnderCover. It is very durable, secure, and easy to keep clean. I especially like the ABS, non-painted surface.

Does anyone have a pic of the Undercover on there flairside? Just picked up a new FX4 flairside and I am leaning towards the undercover but would like to see some pics(on a silver FS would be nice). Later.

Here's the web site for the undercover with pricing. It's where I got mine.

I paid $720 installed. That includes the 9% sales tax applicable in my area ( ).

I went with the Pace Edwards Bedlocker, remote controlled retractable.
A killer cover and way tough!

PACE EDWARDS BEDLOCKER

You can also get integrated tool box, utility rails and more for this cover!

That's pretty sweet. Not sure I've seen that one before...

Shopping around is a good idea. I contacted the place in Carson that rj28racer mentioned when I was looking for a tonneau, and they did have good deals.

However, my local place was only 500 bucks for a Lund hard cover. Came with the stuff to install it. They would have had to order it, though, as they didn't have my color.
I tried their demo out (owner's truck, a Cheby) and my wife turned it down, too hard to pull back down, or too hard to lift, depending on optional gas shocks.

That's why I went with the fold cover. Anyone can fold it up, or open either end, and one guy can remove it, which you seldom need to do, as it folds up 75% in a few seconds.

The Fiberglass, if it has a good paint job, is by far the best looking. The folding covers, K-cover, Advance, Fold-a-Cover, are the most practical.

Where do you suggest to order one? I preffer to mail order and install by myself than install by the dealer.

Thanks for any input

The Retrax does look cool and I started thinking about it, but as I was showing it to my pop; he brought up a good point I thought by wondering how it dealt with the winter. Round here only being 20 miles from the ocean and in southern New England we have icy, slushy, and just plain out crusty winters. Not sure how well the Retrax would hold up or behave when it gets wet inside and then freezes or is frozen over, I mostly see a lot of hard tonneaus on the road (my dad has one and swears by it). They do continue to function under whatever is coming down or no matter how cold it is out. Only performance problem in any weather with the hard tonneau is the weight of water on it. Anyone have any experience with the Retrax under these conditions? BTW, how's the seal on them? My dad's bed is always bone dry.

I paid $865 ordered direct from the manufacturer. Install was simple, took about 2 hours and I took my time.

I had a retrax on my last truck. I loved it! Only thing I didn't like, was the bedspace I lost. Someone on here said it's removable, but not really in my opinion. It is heavy and takes a little work to get it aligned correctly. Me and my dad installed it and it took a couple hours. I think I paid around $900 shipped. I wouldn't want to remove it if I didn't have to.

I now have a 05 SCREW with an even shorter bed. The retrax would just take up too much space in my already tiny bed. I am leaning towards either the Undercover or the K-cover/fold-a-cover. I just wish they had the k-cover/foldacovers with 4 panels for the SCREWs. I like the idea of folding the 3 sections up onto the front section. I read that these are relatively easy to remove with an allen wrench in 5 mins. That way if I am away from home I can still haul a large item by removing the cover.

I got the dealer installed Ford one (the snapless model).

Meh, its alright. Ford gave it to me free 'cause when I bought my truck they had a special on for $1000.00 worth of dealer installed accessories.

So I got the tonneau cover, the metro overhead rail package, and the rear underseat organizer.

I'm not complaining...

Though if I had my choice, I would put in a retractable hard sliding tonneau cover. I think those are very slick.
