Rancho 9000
WOW ...all I can say now from stock. I put to full soft, and the truck rides soooo smooth. No nose dive, and not as much body lean. I'm complately happy !!!!
I would reccomend this to anyone that wants to get rid of those sharp bumps that you are expereiencing. I have not tried towing yet, but its a nice feature of simply turning the ****.
Thanks again Rancho !!!

I asked because I wanted to know, but thanks now that I do know.
Are you sure the new FX4's use Rancho RS5000 shocks? The 02-03's used a Rancho shock that was specially valved to Ford's specs and was completly different than the commercially available Ranchos.
wandell, I've got those Ranchos on my '03. Just say "Rancho" on the side. No Numbers. When you say "completely different" from the other Ranchos, what exactly do you mean?
I've got no complaints with these. Ride sure feels nice. On and off road.
Do you have any idea the lifespan of these Ford Rancho shocks? I've got 26k on 'em now. Sure don't feel a need to replace them with anything else right now.
Thanks for any info.

They were actually made by Tennoco (I believe that is the name) which is the parent company of Rancho. They make the Motocraft shocks for Ford also. Ford just had them change the appearance. They are valved the same as the shocks on the old "Off Road" and the towing package, just a different paint job. GM does the same thing with the Bilstiens on the Z-71 package. It is just a marketing thing. They were Rancho shocks, just different than the RS5000's, RS9000's and RSX's.
