Rancho 9000

Are the Rancho 9 way adjustables only offered in the rear ?

I called the local shock place for an install quote, and they told me (after calling rancho) only the rears are adjustable.

is this correct ???

thanks

p.s. are the front shocks or struts ?

The new F-150's use coilover shocks, which are basically a larger, heavier duty version of a strut. I just recieved the new issue of 4Wheel Parts magazine/catalog (Off Road Adventures). There was a small mention in it that Rancho now has shocks for the new F-150's. You may want to contact them or Rancho directly.

I just recieved my new issue from Moss Motors and they too now have the Rancho RS9000 for the rear and the front of our trucks. $128 each for the fronts and $89 for the rears. Kinda expensive for shocks. Hopefully they will come down after awhile.

awesome. I plan on having mine installed tomorrow. So since they are coilover, do they come with springs ? I'm curious.

Anyhow, I'm excited for a smoother, lesss bloated ride !!!

Do any brand new trucks come equipped with Rancho's? I've seen 'em on brand new trucks (a Ford and a Chevy) and am wondering if they're just an aftermarket thing or maybe not...

First off FORD LARIAT, you are joking correct? The FX4 comes with the Rancho 5000's stock. Scraping the bottom of the barrel offroad shock if you ask me. They may be better than stock but that is not saying much.

As for the 9000X's. I have had these on my last rig. IF YOU DO ANY OFFROADING or Alterane tyoe of driving they are worth every penny. Are they as good as King Coils reservoir shocks no, but they are by far cheaper. I will also say I havn't used the MX6's by procomp either. But the 9000x's turn you truck into a completely different vehicle when adjusted from 1-9. It will simply amaze you. Plus, if you get the in cab controller you can adjust ride for driving conditions on the fly which can be cool if you are in a field on a rainy muddy day, take my word for this (because, I thought saving money and doing it by hand was a better way, it was not).

Yes, they offer the 9000X adjustables for the front

BUT,

EVERYONE LISTEN.......

I just got on the Rancho site, and they have a new 9000X that has an adjustable collar on it for 0 - 2 1/2" of adjustability for leveling. THAT IS AMAZING NEWS. It says that the part number works for our trucks. I will email them and find the low down. I AM FREAKIN AMPED IF THIS IS THE CASE.

Page 4 shows the shock and page 22 shows our application!!!!!!!!!!!!

YEEEEEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just went to their website and here are the p/ns for the RSX9000 Ride adjustables:
2004-2005 Ford F-150 4wd
RS99768 Front height adjustable strut 0"-2.5"
RS99286 Rear (Stock blocks)

p.s. the current adjustables DO NOT come with springs, just the strut.

I have the RS9000X shock front and rear. They are adjustable but they also came the the Rancho lift kit.

I like them, I keep them at setting 1. I have done some extreme fourwheelin' and setting 3 was pretty damn stiff.

I would like to get some Edelbrock's or Bilsteins. I loved my Edelbrocks on my '01 Screw and would have tried Bilsteins but they never wore out on me. So when these Ranchos wear out then I will probably go to ..... oh heck, Edelbrock or the Bilsteins....

The Ranchos are still a good shock but ...............

Why don't you order the Height adjustable/ride adjustable new ones? You can leave them at stock height of 0" or increase to level out the truck, according to Rancho.

I second the picture these comments paint!

The adjustable collar was what I was looking for! Didn't see them earlier this year as it would have swung the choice scale for me ... despite former experiences.

yeah, I just got my 9000x and yes, its mainly for the street. My truck does not see dirt LOL

i just got back from the initial drive home, a few miles. I really do need to break them in more. The most comfort setting easy takes away the bob from braking and cornering compared to factory (actually its set one knotch or two below - see below). I'm curious as to the other setting will react. Even better I suppose. The harsh rear bump that I got with stock shocks are gone as well. It feels great.

I noticed the fronts were off set on say 7 or 8. I just cranked them to 9 (or one, I'm not sure which is the most comfortable, i just cranked it to the easier side). This should be interesting if that make even more of an improvement up front.

So far its good. Now is it worth the total bill of $500 (with parts) ......well, I got money to burn right. Especially on a $44k truck

But in al honestly, handeling has improved and ride quality. This is the first few miles of riding impressions. i'm hoping it will get better.

Now the question is do I need to realgin my truck ? 7k miles so far
