Alloy wheels and brake dust

I have the Eagle 186 Alloy wheels http://www.aewheel.com/wheels_detail.cfm?id=259

The driver side front wheel gets the most brake dust out of all the other wheels and the dust seems to be destroying the finish. I scrub the wheels every time I wash the truck, most wheel cleaners are crap and seem to leave residue that needs to be polished off. The stupid brake dust is leaving black specks on the wheel that can't be washed and need to be polished off. I tried to polish the wheel once, took hours, really sucked....

Anyone have suggestions about how to prevent or easily take care of this issue?

Sounds like somebody needs to scrap the stock pads and get some good ones. I for one will not get aftermarket wheels with these pads. I'm gunning for http://www.porterfield-brakes.com and kissing brake dust goodbye!!

I got Porterfields put on 1300 miles ago. No more brake dust to contend with during weekend washes.

Carbon Kevlar pads from Porterfield. Do a search and you'll find several posts about them, their price, and where to get them.

That's pretty much the only pad they make (read: mass produce) for the truck. You can get the others custom made, but why?

yes, R4-S. You should have found the ebay links I kept posting, and that seller has the part numbers listed in his auctions.

the easy fix........ get yourself one of those mr. clean car wash gadgets. wash your rims and tires like you normally do. then rinse with a strong spray of water. then spray the filtered water (from the mr. clean gadget) on the tires and rims. no more brake dust problem. i found this out last summer. works awesome. i don't know why it works, i just know it does.
