Headlights and Fog Lights...

I am trying to find an online retailer where I can purchase 9145 Silverstar bulbs, and also the XtraVision H13 bulbs. I have done a search on here and the web, couldnt find it. If anyone has any links they can give me, that would be sweet. Thanks!

OK, I followed the websites, and it brings me to their performance shop, but neither the H13XV or the 9145ST are listed there. Am I missing something? Where did everyone else get their bulbs?

You need to use the 9005 Silverstars in your fogs. They are not listed in the official application catalog. You may need to trim one "leg" of the new bulbs to get a perfect fit. Just compare the new bulb to your old one and you'll see the very slight difference. Do not touch the glass either.

It's not an official application for a reason or more than just one.

I've read this is a bad idea though because the 9005 bulbs run hotter than the bulb that currently is your fog lights. Thus you'll run the risk of melting the wires and/or mounts in the fog lights.

Not only that the 9005 bulb is meant to have a shield on it since its a headlight bulb and not a fog light bulb. The shield is the piece of metal that you see in your headlight that covers the actual bulb. Without this piece of metal you'll be blinding everyone with your foglights, because they'll be unprotected headlights shining out of your foglights.

I just installed the Silverstar 9005 bulbs in my fog lights this weekend and didn't have to trim anything.. Perfect fit. I also did the fog light mod so they are on with my highbeams.

I've run the Sylvania 9005CBs in my rig since November, 04, and no melting, no oncoming traffic flashing me, nothing. The difference in the night time vision with the 9005 over the 9145s is amazing. Add the fogs on with brights mod,(relay mod - do search) and you'll actually be able to see at night!

How do you do the fog light mod? I want them on with my highbeams because I do a lot of back roads driving.
