Whats going on guys...i've been noticing that many people have vent guards on their trucks. What is the main purpose of them? just ventilation or what?these are the ones i might get. thttp://www.f150store.com/Shop/ViewProducts.aspx?PlateIndexID=43678&WebCatalogID= 27&PlateTypeID=1

I use mine to keep the truck cooler during the daytime when it is parked in the 100+ degree S. Texas sun!

They are also great for letting in air without getting blown away...I've tried the channel kind, but they don't let your windows roll up all the way and believe it or not that makes a huge difference in the noise level in the cabin, so I went with the tape on kind...I just made sure that I didn't drive for a whole day once I put them on to make sure the adhesive was on nice and tight.

My Ventvisor brand in-channel do allow the window to roll all the way up, but there is sometimes a little wind noise from the clip itself, or the visor. Just noticable when the wind hits fairly hard from the side. Not a real issue. I use them to lower my windows about a half inch when I park. Also, they do add a little 'shade' when the sun is getting lower.
