Get a alarm + remote start and then you'll get 500+ feet of range.

Yeah the stock equipment range is horrid. Go with aftermarket and it will be leaps and bounds better. I'm putting in a Viper 791XV and it works from 1500+ feet.

When I approach my truck from the rear I almost have to be touching it to get the locks to work pressing the button constantly.

Does anyone have advice on the make/model of an alarm system?

TIA

Mine seems to work fine from about 50' from the back (that's the only direction I can tell due to seeing the bed light come on)

hold the remote to your head and you'll double the range. I'm not even kidding either

hey i never said it was a safe thing to do. I was told about it by a guy at work and thought yeah right, but couldn't help myself from trying it.

Personally i don't really see the point of long ranges on remotes, if you're locking or unlocking; it's because you're about to or have just left the car

its a bit like having the eject button on the remote for my DVD player, like who's gonna change the disk but me standing next to the damn thing

If I remove the tin foil from my head, will the aliens still be able to find me? Ever since I got "taken" I've had to wear tin foil on my head to keep them from tracking me with the chip they put in my head...even moved to Nebraska because they are scared of corn fields...

OK, just kidding...

Pretty cool trick. I've heard people say it works, but never tried it myself.

But if you lock your keys in the car, your signifiicant other can press the button at home on your spare ring & the signal will relay through your cell phone!!!

There is a FREE system that all you have to do is pay to add it on to the existing alarm, but it allows you to call a 800 number enter your pin and they can do whatever your remote can do. (start, arm, disarm)
