anyone have this same Inner front door rattle?

I got a rattle (sounds like something hitting the glass) in my driver's front door. Only hear it when the window is all the way up. If I bang on top of the door panel with my fist, I can duplicate the noise/rattle. If I just tap the power window switch once to barely crack open/lower the window, the noise goes away. I took off my door panel, and also the plastic sheet on the inner door metal panel, and still couldn't find the source of the rattle. It appears to be inside the inner metal panels of the door itself, somewhere near the window up/down track.

Anyone else have a similiar inner front door rattle and successfully had it fixed?

well, that's not good to hear then. It went away during the winter time when everything was cold and tight I guess. But now that spring's here and it's warmer out, the rattle came back.

mine did the same thing i fixed it my self. a couple of things first, do you have a mark on the glass and if you rub really hard the mark comes off ? also it is a click sound/noise right,if you look down in side the door from window edge with a flash light you'll prob. see the window cable with the rubber sheath that is what was hitting and making the sound and the mark on the glass. i pulled the cable out the way and moved the rubber sheath a little bit and th e problem was solved.and yes you have to remove the door panel, and i had to do this on 3 of 4 doors on my screw ,the dealer couldn't fig.when i took it in so i took matters in to my hands.check it out and let me know. like I said, I already had the door panel off. I know of the cable rubbing problem you speak of, my dad's XLT front window had the smudge marks, and I took his panel apart and we tied back the rubber window cable and no more problems since. But my window does not have any marks, and when I had the panel off, I grabbed the cable and shook it and it didn't create any noise. I don't think it's the cable in my case. Unless it still hits the bottom of the glass when the window it all the way up?

I have the same problem.......only when it really gets cold outside and when I hit a big bump on the road. One day I will pull of the door panel and see whats going on. This thread has given me a good idea of what it is.......just one question do you have to pull the speaker out of the door to remove the panel????

yes, for the front doors, take off the grille, and then pull out the speakers. Then also take a pair of pliers or something, and pull out the bottom 2 white pegs that the speaker bolts screw into. Otherwise they get in your way when you try to slide the door panel back on.

this may be it...

I have a 2000 F150 supercab with the same noise. The passenger side rear "suicide" door rattles when I hit bumps. I found th enoise to be coming from the rear door creaking against the frame. I havent found out how to stop it yet.
