Black Leather Interiors

How many of you have black leather interiors and how are they holding up? I have the tan and the leather on the drivers seat is visibly cracking. Other tan interios I have seen are far worse than mine. Wondering if the black is any better as it looks like Ford is going to buy back my truck due to brake/shake problems they have been unable to fix.

MIne are a year old and holding up great. I do use meguires leather cleaner and conditionar at least once a month though. I also bought a replacement set of ebay just in case my kids or wife trashes my original ones.

Look and smell like new here.
I also use leather conditioner 2 times a month to keep it new looking and smelling.

I've got gray leather and they're holding up nice. Have had the truck since Aug. Use the Armor All leather wipes about once a month.

I have the tan leather and so far, after 18 months and minimal care, they still look new

Only had the truck a couple months, but the balck leather interior seems like it will last forever. Once a day, I polish the drivers seat with my butt.

Mine is holding up just fine. By cracks are you sure you don't just mean the leather is starting to break in?

I love the look of black leather on a black truck. However I sure don't like getting in it when it's hot outside!

A year later, and I've got some wrinkles on the outside seat cushion bolster, but I slide across the seat instead of pulling myself out. They still look good otherwise, only thing I do as far as care goes is using Meguiars leather wipes every couple weeks or so.

No, I do not mean wrinkles. The leather seats are coated with some type of vinylish finish, that finish is cracking. Ford considers it normal and my service dept. showed me pics of what Ford considers normal wear, it would not be acceptable to most of us. I was just wondering if that cracking of the leather coating was less noticeable on the black leather. On another note I am not crazy about the wood look trim with the black, except for the guy who painted his and it looks great, has anybody found a dash product to cover the wood trim in the black interior? Sorry for the long post.

I got the black leather. While the quality of the leather is not up to the German auto industry standards, I've had no issues with it yet. The truck is 7.5 months old. It's actually a very nice color combo, Dark Bull Fighter Red & Black Leather, I like it.

KC-10 FE out...

Well since its not 100% leather, and its not pulled tight, these things are bount to happen. Poor quality material and it not being streched over the surface of the seats makes a huge difference.

I expect my leather to break in over time and crack and show wear. Especially when they are cheap leather seats like we have. I'd rather have slightly less expensive seats that wear, than ones that cost 3 times as much just to appease a few that are a bit to **** about looks. That's just my opinion on the matter though, take it how you will.

How is the white stitching holding up on the black leather? I was worried that it would be noticably stained in certain areas.

Well AK Jay when I pay to get something I expect it to be reasonable quality. Expecting leather seats to crack is ridiculous, just because they are not the most expensive leather seats does not mean we should expect poor service from them. Leather I have had in other vehicles does not wear like these have and as I said earlier, others look far worse than mine do at this point. If this is the case, Ford should offer cloth as an option on the Lariats as they do on the FX4. Not trying to start an argument but your comment seemed odd to me at best.
