Warranty work; Dealer says no work order?
My dealer makes me sign the first page of the work order (invoice) authorizing repairs right off the bat. After the warranty work is completed I get at least two pages (pink copy) when I pick up my keys.
No paperwork doesn’t sound right. Dealerships have to keep a paper trail to collect payment from Ford for their service work. Something fishy going on.

Hey I pulled up OASIS, shoot me an email to trierguy@yahoo.com and I'll send an attachment with all the info.

Thanks kingfish51 for the def.
I guess we'll have to go to a different dealer, but oh boy what a hassle. This one is 60 miles round trip, the next closest is going to be 60 miles one way...gracious, here we are, Ford lovers in a land running a-plenty with DODGE dealers on every blessed corner! *sigh*

Tagged for later, 'cause I get forgetful, now with this new fancy smancy VB dealie, I can go into my User CP and see what threads need tendin' to.
Okay, the following visits were documented in Ford's system: On 25 April '05, you stated that the speedo quit working at 56 mph; that was a NPF (no problem found). On the same visit is when they "sanded" your pads down, with 3300 miles, it's beyond me as to why they didn't replace them. Your A/C was checked that day too, I guess it was 6 ounces or so low. On 6 May 2005, your speedometer problem came back, they replaced and reprogrammed the instrument cluster and called it fixed, and the PCM was reprogrammed for a hesistation. So while you may not have gotten a paper copy saying that the work was done, whatever your servicing dealer has done has been documented officially.

There's seems too be some shananigans going on at that dealers serv. dept.
Is there any other dealer near you who's serv. dept you might try to use ?
You're definately supposed to leave with docs... somethings up ?????

i complained about never getting a work order at my dealer and they never gave me one, so on my survey i wrote that down(which got them pretty po'd and i have a thread on here about that) and now when i go in there they make sure that i sign a work order before they take the keys
Funny you mention this today. I had them replace a seal around my sunroof today and never recieved any paperwork. From what i recall the only time i have recieved paperwork was when i actually had to pay them something. Which is also the only time they make me sign anything!
Im not to worried, as long as they keep me happy!

Thanks Quintin much appreciated! I just need to call them today and ask them again for a copy of the repair orders so I'll have something in my records showing what's been done. Think I'll skip asking the service dept. again, though, and talk to the general manager this time.
Good idea. I have never had to ask. My dealership is one of those 5 star thingys and they call one day after service to make sure everything is okay. Something to do with their rating, as far as Ford goes.
The only time I have never received paperwork from a dealer..or the dealer tried to not give me paperwork...was back in 1998 with my Explorer. It had been in there several times for pulling to the right. It turned out that it was from that big Firestone Tire problem. But they were actually refusing to give me paperwork that the truck had been in to the dealer for the problem, most likely because they didn't want me to pull a Lemon Law on them. Needless to say, I have not been back to that dealer again.
But your place just sounds so shady.
But your place just sounds so shady.
When I called yesterday to speak with the manager, he was out to lunch.
So I told them I'd had my truck in twice for warranty work, no big deal, everything seemed to be working fine. But I wanted some paperwork in my possession to keep with my records.
Again, I was told "We don't have work orders or customer copies or anything for warranty work".
I replied "I understand that, but you certainly can give a customer something that states exactly what work was done on a vehicle, can't you?"
They said they'd have someone get back to me. Still waiting...sheesh I'm starting to feel nit-picky, and I hate being perceived that way, but they're making a big production out of something so simple, all I want is a piece of paper for cryin' out loud!
Trierguy or Quintin, since I now know that the work was recorded properly in OASIS, maybe I can just forget about it now? I can just print out the email with my report on it just for my reference. Is there any reason I need anything directly from the dealer?
