Back to the dragstrip....after the intake!!
Aight guys I went back up to the strip tonight to get some updated times with the AirAid installed. OK, remember last time I was up there I ran an average of a 10.35 consistently and it was right at 60 degrees. Well tonight when I started it was 75 and humid and I still ran a 10.35 average. BUT as the night went on, it cooled to about 65 and I got a few 10.2's so the intake is showing up a little there. I have also lowered my 1-2 shift point from 5600 to 5400 to save the torque converter. Overall I am VERY impressed as I managed to get some really nice kills. One run was against a newer V6 camaro and he ran a 10.6 against my 10.3, so that was fairly impressive. Another was against a ~88-93 S-10 4.6L 5 speed and he ran a 10.7 and I again ran a 10.3 this one. Another was a Honda Prelude, not the newest body style but the one before that and I couldn't believe I beat him, but he also ran a 10.7. And my final run was against a Honda S-2000, he ran a 10.0 to my 10.2.....I was like WOW! I did a little smoker almost every time to get the tires warm and clean em off cause a lot of morons with FWD's were driving THROUGH the waterbox and trailing water onto the track with the back tires
. But I am really happy with this as I cannot believe such a big heavy truck can do that!!

If you want to put it that way...my ride will blow that...
C'mon now...we cant compare cars to trucks unless its a sport truck...Lightning or some insanely moded out F150.

How do you like that Xcalibrator? Is it worth it to get it?

Steer the path guys... if this thread turns Honda/Toyota/Mitsu/Acura/Kia/Nissan/Scion/Lexus/etc...etc...etc...
It'll be closed, moved, and/or deleted.
Intake is the topic...
(btw, I included Kia in that list because we all KNOW that they are built for SERIOUS speed!)

I do not have exhaust, so the truck looks completely stock from the outside. The Xcalibrator is DEFINITELLY worth it!! But I do not have 60 ft or trap speed or any of that because on test and tune nights, they do not hand out slips. You just see the ET as you pass the time boards. No 1/4 mile times as this is only an 1/8th mile time. And yes I am sure the S2000 would whoop in the 1/4 because of its higher RPM powerband BUT I am just telling you about personal experience and what I saw last night. And in the real world when you are Fing with someone on the street, the 1/8 mile is closer to what you would do anyway, 0- about 70 around town.
Good times for an FX$, I was at 9.95 bone stock with no mods.
BTW, this is weird....check this out. My friends 2003 S2000 ran a 9.90 in the 1/8th........crappy times. but, that is launch for you with crap for TQ.
BUT, his 1/4 mile time was a 14.5. That is pulling hard to get a 14.5 from a 9.9 1/8ET. Top end is SLAMMING in an S2000.
Anyway, good times. I am pulling for 13's in the 1/4 mile w/o boost....ALL MOTOR.
Ran a best of 9.10@76.2, so I aint too far off.

Awesome times Hellbound! How much weight difference is there between a loaded FX4 and a reg. cab XL? According to some ET calculators my truck weighs 5600 and yours is 4850. Is that about right? What all do you have done, performance wise? I know you have tuner, intake, exhaust....what else?
