If y'all had a Dark Shadow Grey rig, I'd recommend the EGR carbon fiber which is a match made in heaven, but...
In any case, protecting the leading edge of that soft aluminum hood is a good idea even if a deflector isn't your idea of good taste. The deflector has saved my hood from damage several times (e.g. an acorn at 60mph), although in one case it deflected some road debris up and over the cab onto my hard tonneau (ouch), but a glancing bounce is better than a direct hit.

Look on the EGR website and look at the collegiate shields. They are bug shields with your favorite college team logo and name on them in the team color. They are really neat looking but the cost 150.00 which is pretty high for a bug shield.

Don't get one. I had one on mine and decided to take it off to see if I liked the truck better without the guard. I found that almost the whole leading edge of the hood where the grill mounts had the paint scraped off. Needless to say I no longer have a bug shield.
