I'm not a bug deflector kind of guy. But if I was, it would be the Ford Low Profile. Good luck.

I have the high profile on mine, and love the way it looks.

If y'all had a Dark Shadow Grey rig, I'd recommend the EGR carbon fiber which is a match made in heaven, but...

In any case, protecting the leading edge of that soft aluminum hood is a good idea even if a deflector isn't your idea of good taste. The deflector has saved my hood from damage several times (e.g. an acorn at 60mph), although in one case it deflected some road debris up and over the cab onto my hard tonneau (ouch), but a glancing bounce is better than a direct hit.

See EGR: http://www.f150online.com/galleries/....cfm?gnum=3886

I've got the Ford low profile critter shield too. I've got some minor hood flutter at 80+ mph, I just haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. Works alright though.

Look on the EGR website and look at the collegiate shields. They are bug shields with your favorite college team logo and name on them in the team color. They are really neat looking but the cost 150.00 which is pretty high for a bug shield.

Does the Ford low profile have the rubber bumpers to keep it off the hood or is it formed so that it does not touch the hood?

this is the part I was afraid of when i opened the box in got to look at it... You have to loosen the 6 nuts that hold the top part of the grill on and it slids in behind it. I though this was a crappy way of doing it but once it was all together i liked it.... then for the sides you have to stick a piece of 3M clear on the hood and then a metal... yes... metal clip clips onto your hood lip. Then each end of the bug shield screws to those two clips.... after doing it, it was pretty easy and the guard is very strong.... doesnt touch the hood at all and doesnt need the rubber buttons which fall off most of the time anyways.

Don't get one. I had one on mine and decided to take it off to see if I liked the truck better without the guard. I found that almost the whole leading edge of the hood where the grill mounts had the paint scraped off. Needless to say I no longer have a bug shield.
