Ahhh, Finally Got the 4.56s!!!

For everyone running 35s or bigger AND still have factory gears I highly recommend upgrading your gears! My truck feels better than new and I love driving it! After doing the lift and adding 37s the truck drove like a dog BUT not anymore!! At 75 mph I am right at 2100 rpms in overdrive. Oh yea, I have give a great BIG thanks to Ryan over at "All Out Off-Road" here in Richmond, Tx for swapping my gears the right way... They Don't Howl, Whine, or Squeak... THANKS Ryan!!!

Yes she does!

I can out run here from the get go !

LOL!

Actually a friend said he thinks that is what I may be feeling when taking off, like a tugging, moving shifting feel. He said he thinks it's the truck trying to compensate from the big tires and it just feels like it's strugling. Don't know - I am not mechanically inclined!

BlkButy, I highly recommend getting a gear swap! When I was on the highway (with 3.73s) I couldn't even throw it into overdrive because the rpms were so low I could feel the engine struggling to turn the tires. Even at take off I felt like the engine and tranny were hating life due to the 37s. Now with the 4.56s it feels like I just walked out of a smoke filled bar and got a fresh breath of air!

Well stock tires to 37's is going to be a big difference but I don't think he lost any gas performance.

Haha! before the gear swap I could actually see the gas needle moving towards "E" while I was driving! To sum it up... IT SUCKED! But it's a little better now with the gears

ROTFLMFAO

What vehicle doesn't wear their gears?

Oh yeah, I forgot I'm a retard with a reading problem, you didn't say anything about "wear". The tolerances just somehow open up.

Hi Sal,
Glad to hear they worked out for you.

I have been trying figure out which would be best for my 35" tires. The 4.56s or 4.27s. Keep us posted on your gas mileage.
