I have 20% all the way around and it matches factory very well, I think perfectly. I also have a banner at 20% and it realy doesn't make all that big of a difference from the inside, but it looks nice from the outside. And no, make sure you tell the installer to use the good stuff, some guys cut corners and use the $30 a roll cheapo stuff. If he gives you a puzzled look go elsewhere. Of course you won't know the difference for 3-4 years maybe longer if they cheap out.

Best bet is to go through the dealer to get it done. That is the only way I could get mine done up here in MN. As it is the truck has to be driven an hour to get the windows tinted....just found that out and I'm not happy about it. They freaking better fill up the gas tank. Also the darkest they'd do with me signing a waiver of legal liability is 35%...since MN state law is 50%.

35% or 15% you'd still be in trouble. Thats kind of dumb on their part.

Looks like I'm late for the party as usual...

I'm running 20% and I'm VERY pleased with the results. While I think my fronts (at 20%) are every so slightly darker than my rears, it's absolutely unnoticable from the exterior and only nominally noticable from the interior.

I'm very pleased with the tint and I really like the look...

Hope that helps...

I'd be fine with 35%, as long as the cops can see in they don't usually bother you. My wife had limo all the way around on her car and after 3 tickets in a 1 month period we removed it. What sucks is that we bought it from the dealer that way.

Anybody in Norcal know of a spot I can go to, to get this done?
hey just so you know they make clear tint yes clear tint it takes out the uv rays you know the burn that you feel on your arm it really does help.

Same laws here in Southern California, just the temps hit 120 in the desert. That equates to 160-170 on your dash.

All the Mex places around here will tint your windows. If you see an Anglo working, drive on by. Not kidding, and not racism.

I have an actual legal perscription for tint, though have never been asked for it. (it's the wife's, vision problems). I have had a dozen cars tinted, and no Anglo would even touch the front windows, even with the perscription, no Mex has ever even asked. California culture thing, I think.

On the guys with the heavy tint, I had limo in one car, a black caddy, looked great, and was still in it when we sold it, but when I put 'double' limo or 5% on my wife's Eldo, you couldn't see anything in the rearview mirrors at night. Unsafe.

Removed the front window tint myself, leaving the super dark in the back.

Best way to remove tint seems to be a 'pocket steamer'. You can take it off in minutes by steaming it, and catching the edges.

I have a medical condition that would allow me to get an exemption as well but according to DMV, there are no medical conditions that allow exemptions to the laws.

I've got a prescription for Marijuana so I'm SURE I can get a "prescription" for window tint.

I'll have to go cruise on the "other" side of town and see if I can find any window tint shops.

Here is mine at 20% front.....I love it. And you know, I noticed something....maybe it's just me but are SuperCrews front doors shorter than SuperCabs??? I mean look at a few of the Screws and look at mine. I swear it is longer, like look at the distance between the edge of the door handle and the start of the curve in the door for the side mirror. IDK, maybe I'm loosing it!!!

I went with 5% all the way around and it is to dark for the front windows. When i get a ticket i will remove the front windows tint and replace it with the 20% tint.

Good luck, sacramentojoe.
The law plainly states the two conditions where it doesn't apply.
The ADA would cover it even if it wasn't already in there.
On weed, no not in the law.

The DMV (which has far more power, under the state laws, than our Guv'ner) doesn't make, or interpet, the law. Thankfully the judges, and the cops have a little more common sense, and less feeling of 'godhood' that the DMV people.

Had my front 2 tinted to match like the factory on the others.

On my old grandcherokee I had 20 then a layer of 5 over that...talk about so dark they won't even know your name.

Im pretty sure the supercab doors are longer than the supercrew doors. I know this has been discussed before.

I thought I'd point this out. When looking out from the inside of your vehicle remember that even though it looks like it matches on the outside. It won't match on the inside because of the windsheild. The windshield allows so much light into the cab it makes the front windows appear lighter.
