Some questions

Hi guys. Im having a few problems with my truck ('04 F-150 5.4 Lariat Texas Ranch). Im getting a noise from my sunroof area, and it souns like something is rattling around in the roof. Whenever I go over bumps....or close the door even, i get a rattling sound, and it goes away if i press on the headliner about 6 inches behind the sunroof, and comes back as soon as i stop pressing. And btw, has anyone had issues with the sides of their beds visibly moving while driving, and has anyone found a fix? Thanks for the help!

Hey masterd...

I really think that you'll get a better response from the folks in our 2004/2005 forum...

I'll move this over there for you in an effort to help...

I've seen the bedsides on my truck dancing around a bit going down the road when the tires are cold. It's not bad enough for me to worry about; as long as the bed doesn't fall off the truck while I'm going down the road, it ain't broke to me. I think there's a revised set of body mounts for trucks that have this problem big time though. Might have to check with your friendly neighborhood stealership.

As far as the sunroof goes, I dunno. That's why I hate sunroofs, there's really not much you can do to see what's going on with them without taking the headliner out and looking.

There are drain tubes that direct moisture away from the sunroof area. I bet that one (or more) of the tubes is loose.

Your dealer should reference TSB 05-9-6 for your sunroof rattle, it was just released last Friday.
