Question Floor Mats

I've read about an hours worth of post about floor mats, so please don't tell me to do a search... If you don't want to answer then don't answer.

I need some new ones since the stock Ford ones have a hole where my boot heel sits after only 3 months of use. These POS's are without doubt the worst floor mats I've ever seen. As soon as I get my new ones, anyone who's willing to sort thru the Florence, NJ landfill is welcome to have the OEM Ford mats, since that's where I plan on putting them. Anyway...

It seems that most recommend the Catch-ALL Extreme.

Anybody have any other recommendations? I'd like to think there is at least ONE other good floor mat out there.

if you put your heel through it in 3 months, it must be the way you rest your foot.

try buying cheapos that you can replace as they wear.

A lot of folks have posted good things about the Husky's. I have the Catch-All's (carpeted) and I love them.

Well I must agree with your accessment of the factory mats. I did go with the Catch All carpeted mats and they look terrific. I have had them in about a month now (2500 miles for me) and no signs of heel wear at all. Everyone on here seems to avoid the carpeted versions due to cleaning concerns, I use a spray of carpet cleaner from auto zone and any dirt wipes right off. You wont go wrong with the Catch Alls.

Actually, its simply that the Ford mats SUCK. My Chevy has the original carpeted floor mats in it and they don't show any wear after 14 years... The guy at the local Ford dealer even said he thinks the mats in the new F150 suck. He said the one in the previous generation are much better. I tried to have them replaced under warranty and they said carpets are not covered.

I see that Husky only makes plastic mats, while Catch-All makes plastic & carpet? Husky's website suck while Catch-ALL actually has useful photos.

Anybody have or have experience with:

cocomats.com

Hey SAJEFFC, do you hve the one piece things that go all the way from door to door? I definitely want carpets in the summer & plastic in the winter.

Thanks

I have Rubber Catch alls well actually Cabelas brand but they make them for them. I like alot real tough just wipe off and fit like a glove. I wouldn't have carpet because at my buddies shop I step in grease and track in truck!! That same buddy has Husky's and doesn't like them they look loose and baggy around the edges and slide around, maybe he doesn't have the new versions his are 6 months old.

I vote for the Husky Heavy Duty rubber mats. I drilled a 1/2" hole so that I could slide it onto the stud where the original mat hooked in, and the thing doesn't slide around. The best thing is that the Husky Liners cover the carpet where your left foot rests.

I also have the catch-all carpeted mats. Since you have a Lariat I think these look better. Cabelas. com has both huskeys, catchall. They really do clean up easy. I just take it to the car wash and use the shampoo brush then vacc its that easy.

I went with carpeted Catch All Extremes as I have a Lariat. Others have posted on the non carpeted Catch Alls as well.

Carolina Trucks had the best price that I could find as well as others in this forum. They also arrived quickly (4 days).

I have picks in my gallery.....

From the sounds of it, you should try a search.... LOL! JK KC! I couldn't resist... I know your pain buddy...

Seriously though, I'd highly recommend the Husky Liners WITHOUT the carpet for your application. Like you, I'm hell on floormats with my boots (I wear steel toes every day as a geologist) and after two trucks and two sets of Husky Liners, I have NOTHING but GREAT things to say about them. Not only do they make a great product that fits exceedingly well in the space alloted (custom fitted), their customer service is top notch.

You see, I had a hole develop in the mat holder on my 2001 after about 2.5 years of use, it was tiny, mediscule even. I thought, why not call them and inquire about the lifetime warranty. Well, after one email, I had a brand new SET (not just a single replacement) delivered via FedEx Ground. I didn't even have to send them the old one as proof that they were fouled.

While those mats were actually in route, I traded up to my 05' KR. So, naturally, the set of mats that they were sending me was, in general, useless to me. I contacted them back about obtaining a RMA because they weren't going to benefit me and I didn't want to screw them over because of the excellent service that they gave me....

Long story short, upon receipt of my new set for my 01 that I sent back, they sent me a FULL set of mats for my 05 as a token of appreciation for using their products. Long story short, I ended up with a brand new set for my 05' for free... it's hard to beat service like that!

I'd be glad to give you a great deal on my FX4 rubber based, nuclear safe stock floor mats. You could wear golf shoes every day and they'd still be intact.

I just put some of your POS's in mine and have them hanging in the garage.

Let me know, I'll ship them right to you.

That's no joke, you could literally use these things to stop a bullet if you had to...

I had the husky's in my chevy, they were great. I'm the same as you, I wear boots every day, I usually toss the normal floor mats out but my FX4 actually came with some heavy duty floor mats. lol

I will eventually upgrade because the Husky mats cover the whole floor not just 2/3 like the FX4 mats do.

You and me both.

I can't stand rubber mats and the first thing I did was order carpeted mats for my FX4.

I'm gentle on mats though - don't really need the super duty mud baskets.

Another vote for the Husky's. They hold up very well and match the interior of my truck to a tee. Very easy to clean and take in and out.

I had the carpeted Catch-All's in my last truck. Nice mats but they stained. Not that worry with the Husky's.
