15 MPG - Almost all highway driving at 70-75 mph...300+ miles per week

I decided this week to *gulp* trade vehicles with the wife. Her van gets 27 MPG and she does very little driving around town. It hurts pretty bad to leave in the morning and see my truck still setting in the garage.

Well I am averaging currently 10.8 mpg city driving with the 5.4 / 3.73 combo and stock rims. Looks like my lead foot is getting the best of me.
Im sure if i didnt have the ram air hood and airraid intake and new exhaust i would be getting much better gas mileage.

Thanks! If only I had started recording when I bought the truck, oh well.

I found that excel work sheet on another site, if you want a copy, shoot me an e-mail. It also records maintenance, and other expense items associated with the vehicle.

I had been complaining about mileage as low as 9 to my dealer and they started looking things over and found out the trans was slipping and a hub was not disengaging. They claim that they have had a couple cases of the torqshift trans not working properly and causing poor mileage. I will have it back later this week and I hope to see massive improvements in economy.

I wonder if this is the deal with mine. Driving around town, sometimes I have great hook up and other times it seems to just kind of slide into gear. Down shifting seems almost non-existant. Guess I'll have a chat with the guys at the shop.
