Pushed medium, not the fastest, not the slowest car off the light, about 14.5-15.0 around town, 20-22 on the freeway at the speed limit. 65 - 70 mph mostly.

Last tank two thirds very local, one third highway, averaged 17.2.

That's at 3000+ feet, on California blend gas.
Going to the store etc. I get 13.8 - 14.0 outbound, that is cold and up hills, and 17 back home, that is warm and slightly down hill. Overall, starting or idling kills the mileage.

My area has many more stop lights, signs, etc. than most areas, and the people all drive hard between the constant stops.
California drivers, of course...

We also are way overloaded on the streets, leading to 'stopping at green lights'. The last five or six cars crowd through our reds, so as you come up on a stop light, that is green, you still have to stop 4 out of 5 times. Actually stopping for the green light. Screws up your mileage something fierce.

This truck actually surprised me the last time I clocked the mileage.

When it was new, I was getting 13.0-14.2 MPG.

With 12K on the clock, I calc'ed everything out on my last ski trip (which had a boatload of stop and go and 4WD High) and I got a surprising 16.2 MPG.

Thats with a 5.4/3.73 combo.

I'm not gonna complain about that. My prior '98 Dodge 5.2L couldn't break the 14 MPG barrier if you dropped it from a plane.

Well, I don't feel that bad anymore. I guess I was just driving like a grandpa when I was getting 15 miles/gallon. I admit I do drive it a little harder with the lowering and wheels.

At my current stance I get 12.9 on average.

I own my own landscape company and drive both hiway and city alot therefore never really tested them separately.

When I am towing my trailer it drops to a lovely 10.5!

But I chose to do all the lifting to my truck so now I have to pay the extra price.

I wonder if installing the Air Intake and buying a Tuner will help?

16.5 mpg city and highway combo driving. '05 lariat 5.4l 4x4. Just towed trailer (approx 2500 lbs) for 1200 mile trip and averaged 11.5 mpg at 75 mph. I was very happy with the performance and the very comfortable ride!!

I average an even 15 MPG. I've been as low as 12.9 , and as high as 16, but generally, with just over 14K on it, I'm getting between 14.8 and 15.2 on a weekly basis. This is town and country driving.
