wet okole install questions

04 F150 Scab.

Working on the center console/seat.

1st question, Everytime flip the console back to open the seat, the velcro pops off the sides. Did I install the lid part wrong?

2nd question, How did you guys route the bottom pull straps for the seat?

3rd question, Did you tuck in or overlay the console lid cover?

Thanks and Pictures are welcome and needed!!

um, not really sure I understand your first question.

not really sure what your second question is either? they go under the seat and buckle.

don't really understand your third question either.

maybe that's why no one is answering...

Ok, I got that figured out.

I'm having a small problem with the seat straps. The one that runs across the seat specifically. How did you route that one? I got the one closest to the center console routed underneith, but i'm stuck on the door side.

Would it be easier to take off the panel on the side? If so, How do I go about doing that?

Thanks

That one my friend, is a $%#($.

On the passenger side, I took off the trim piece on the seat bottom and all was fine. It took a good bit of figuring on how to get the recline lever unclipped. The drivers side I neve could get off, I couldn't figure out how to get the lumbar support **** off, and didn't want to force anything. Best thing I can recomend is try stuffing under the panel with something dull but thin, like a plastic pancake spatula. It was so long ago, I can't quite remember some of the details, but I remember that one being a real pain. Messing around trying to get the trim panels off is probably more trouble than it's worth.

Hello everyone. I'm new to the forums and just wanted to say what a great site for Ford truck owners this is and to chime in here with my experience with these seat covers.

Yeah the straps that run from the sides of the seats are a pain in the ****. I fed my straps down the side between the plastic sides and the seat cushion then pulled out the bottom of the plastic panel and little bit to grab the strap from underneath. It's a lot harder than it sounds and takes some finagling to get the straps to fall down where you want them to. Might want to take the buckles off till you get them fed through. I then went from the backside of the seats underneath with long nose needle nose pliers to grab the strap to pull it through underneath the seat. Regular needle nose won’t reach. There’s a lot of steel under those seats and there’s only a small area that you can feed the straps through. The other side of the seats is a lot easier to run the straps down, not near as much obstruction. As much effort as they are to get on once you have them on I think you'll fall in love with them. They're the best fit and finish I've seen on seat covers.

Just got it all done. A couple of tips for you guys installing these in the future.

Use a dull plastic spatula to help push in the cover under the trim.

I used some twisted wire (wires inside of cat5) to find the best path for the straps, then attached the straps to the wires and pulled thru.

Took about 2 hours for the first seat, then 10 mins for the second after I used the wire method.

Chris

p.s. Thanks for all the suggestions
