Level Kit Alignment
Level Kit Alignment
I know the level kit subject has been beaten to death around here, but I've searched and haven't found the answer to this question.
Installed a level kit on my truck and it's lookin' real good. Haven't had the alignment done yet... I don't want to take it to the dealer as I'd rather not blatently throw in their face that I'm modding it. I've already taken it to one shop, and their machine (Bear) only listed up to the '03's... it didn't have specs for the 2004. The major chain store in town tell me they don't have '04 specs either.
Any ideas what the specs are? Where are you guys taking your trucks to get them aligned if not back to the dealer and what type of machine are they using?
Thanks in advance!

I took my truck in for an alignment the day after putting on a 2 1/2" autospring front lift. I took it in to the service department of a local FORD dealership and they took care of me real good. They completed a 21 check of everything including axle fluids, motor oil, battery charge, breaks, etc. In addition I asked them to take a look at the idle RPMs as it was running rough at stoplights. They reflashed the PCM with the latest program and she now runs like a champ.
Don't worry about taking your truck to the dealer for the alignment. They will appreciate your busniess and treat you right.

Just take it to the dealer. This way you will be sure they have the right specs and its done properly. Dont worry about modding it. These trucks are comming from some dealers with lift kits and leveling kits on them. I would be affraid of taking it elsewhere and it not getting done right and then taking it to the dealer to get it fixed. Just my .02 cents
Very true Brew. I had my Daystar put on at a local 4Wheel Parts store here in town and they did the alignment and it felt fine. Just to be sure I had my work (ford dealer) check it and they said it was on the money. We also sell new ones with lift and leveling kits so its really no big deal.
