2005 F150 & Fifth Wheel RV Hitch

Very new to the forum and I apologize if this has been asked before.

I currently have a 2000 F150 Lariat which I tow a 23' 5th wheel RV with a 15K Reese hitch. I am very close to buying a new 2005 F150 Lariat, but noticed the bed is much deeper than my 2000. Does anyone know if my current 15K Reese hitch (circa 1999) will work with this deeper bed (wrt height)? If not, I assume Reese has developed a new taller hitch for the newer F150s, is that correct?

Thanks for any input.

The bed should be about the same height as the older F150, its the sides & tailgate that are 3" taller.

The thing you need to worry about is trailer clearance above the top of the bedrails when you're on any kind of goofy angle. Some have had problems or been very close to having them. You don't want the trailer slamming into the bed when you go over the top of a hill...
