Lift before tires?

Lift before tires?
I have a 05 F150 FX4 Crew Cab. It has stock 18" rims (unfortunately). I say this because I am told I can not put larger tires on it unless I lift it first. I am not looking for HUGE tires. Just upgrade from the stock tires to about a 33 inch tire. I am told that with these rims I will have no clearance unless I lift it first. Anybody know how far I need to lift it? Will a 2 1/2" lift be enough for clearance. Thanks for the help

I just installed my 2" Autospring kit yesterday. First side took an hour and a half and the other side only took 30 minutes. Very easy install. Next Friday I get my 305/55/20 (33's) and my Bazo B26's. Here's a link for the rims. http://www.bazowheels.com/wheeldetai...e=b26&rimid=29

Are you asking abou the Bazo's? I'm getting the package for $2900 out the door. The breakdown on the invoice has the rims for $370 apiece and the Nitto's for $250.
I found the cheapest online price I could ($2700 plus tax and shipping, then having them mounted and balanced) and then called Discount to see if they could beat it. They said the best they could do was $2900 but that included rims, tires, tax, 4 replacement certificates, locking lugnuts, and lifetime balancing and rotation.
I can't wait until they get here!
