Question What would you do?

Went to a automotive warehouse show today where they set up a bunch of the manufacturers in booths and they sell there wares at discounted prices. In theory, the prices are the price that they sell them to this distribution warehouse plus a discount (10-40%). My dad's company is a customer of the warehouse so he got me on the list to check it out. I went to it with exhaust mainly in mind since Magnaflow was going to be there and I have a budget that would fit that. I get to the Magnaflow guys and the price is ten dollars more than the hottexhaust deal for the 15834, so no go there. I also check out Carriage Works and the deal was ~$160 for the replacement (not bolt on) polished billet, upper and lower. Another deal were Force side bars (nerf bars), chrome, for $170. I have had my eye on making those mods also and that would be $330 for those two or $383 for the exhaust.

So the question is, if you were me and only had ~$300-$400 to spend would you go back to the show tomorrow and pick up the grill and the nerf bars or just order the exhaust online? This show rolls around once a year so there is always next year if I need to wait on some stuff.

Personally, I'd get the grill and nerf bars and wait on the exhaust.

Thanks for the input. Anyone else have some opinions? I should point out that the best price that I could find for CW grill was around $250 and around $250-$330 for the sidebars. Anybody have any better deals than that? Anything close to the full replacement CW for $160 and sidebars for $170? I want your input!

I don't know man... I REALLY like my Magnaflow... I'd look at it as function versus flash... which do you want?

Best of luck with your decision...

Thanks for the input RockPick. I agree it is function vs. flash and I want both! Tough part is that the grill and nerf bars seem like a deal I shouldn't pass up, but I really want the rumble.

Does anyone know if the hottexhaust deal with the coupon is going away anytime soon?

IF it were me, I'd get the grill. Thats a pretty good deal.

But, the nerf bars are great too.. You'll love them. I got side steps on mine.

Also, you will most likely love the exhaust too...

Get the grill. That is the main thing to make your truck look different from every other F150 on the road.

Function versus Flash... you want both?!? LOL! We all do too... You're not floating in that boat alone. Trust me. Hence, the need for an aftermarket full replacement HID kit for our trucks (flash and function) (like Xenarcs).

As for the coupon, I have no clue. It has been going on a while but, then again, one would've thought that it may have died at the begining of the month if it were set to expire... of course, that's just an educated guess... who knows?

Sounds like the grille is a great price though... With more and more F-150s on the road, the price of aftermarket items will, in my opinion, be driven down slightly. So, jump on whatever you want the mostestestest...

Flash v. Function

That is a great price on the grille combo. I thought I got a great price when I paid $200 shipped for my combo.

Ok, so I went with secret option C. Went to the show today and the exhaust was actually going for $50 less than the hottexhaust deal, so I had to get it too.

All in all, ~$720 (incl. tax) for these 3 mods is pretty good in my mind so I think it is the right decision in the long run. I'll just need to pull some money out of the slush fund
