I think I'm the first to do this mod.
Looks great! I probably would have opted for a clock though. Gone for the Navigator look...
I got rid of the coin holder in my GT a few weeks ago too. Dropped in a convertable switch (what the coin holder fills in for) wired into my garage door opener...

Now that's a good idea -- a momentary swich that triggers your GDO! I wonder if the GT's convertible switch is of a size that would fit this opening in the new F-150???
On a related note -- what the heck are the electrical wires that attach to the back of the coin holder? After reading about this mod, I went to the dealership to use one of their lot vehicles as the "Guinea Pig" in getting the coin holder out of the opening (the posts are right -- just give it a yank!), and noticed a series of wires were actually "plugged into" the back of the coin holder. What's up with that?

On the 4x4 with the manual transfer case, what goes in this hole from the factory?

If it's an '04 the lame a$$ed coin holder he took out.
I don't know if they put it in the '05 's but I would guess yes.
if you got a 4x4 with the electronic transfer then it goes there...
Those wires would be used for your 4wd selector switch if you had one, since you dont...it basically just holds the wires up off the floor. They use the same wiring harness for all the trucks, so they have to do something with them.

Whoops, I forgot to mention that I'm almost 7 feet tall, so people a little shorter may be able to see the whole gauge with no problem.

as i age, my mind isn't as sharp as it used to be. from what i read this is a boost gauge (for a turbo or blower? i guess) but right now he has it hooked up as a vacuum gauge. correct? i'm an car guy, but i don't see many people with vacuum gauges in their rides. i usually hook mine up (to my elcamino) make my adjustments to the carb and then disconnect it. i'm not bashing, just wondering if their is a benefit to having this gauge? (i usually see temp, voltage, oil pressure)
i fully agree that it looks very nice there. like it was factory installed. but what is it for?

An excellent mod. Just an idea for you guys with no tach, A 2" one would fit rite in there also!

Here is a tach I think would match the F150's interior for XL's and STX's. How would this look?
Tach
