It's a bolt over grill, the black is part of the honneycomb grill. I figured since my truck is silver. black and chrome I wouldn't need to paint it. Do you think I should?

How do you get the coin holder out?

Hey Killspoon: I agree your install looks nice and that coin holder is useless. How does that thing come out of the dash? You mentioned you cut up the dash. Does that mean there's no easy way to remove the coin holder?

I think I'll put a subwoofer level control in that opening.

killedbyaspoon,

Leave the front end of your truck alone. The black & silver around your grille looks great. I was going to get the Speed Scene grille for my blue XLT and thought the area around the grille was going to be chrome too....guess I might have to buy that part from Ford to make the whole grille area chrome.....

Thanks, once you pull it out you have to file on it a little bit where the coin holder snaps on until the gauge falls in.

Looks really great1

Vacuum gauge, correct?

My XLT 4x4 is ordered but I haven't gotten it yet.

On the 4x4 with the manual transfer case, what goes in this hole from the factory?

admittedly not the best place to mount the tweeters, but its a very clean install and they fit right in the holes

Their is one downside I have noticed while driving around this weekend. When you have the truck in drive you can't see a the top part of the gauge (about a 1/4 of it), but since I don't have boost (for now) it doesn't matter much. But when I get some boost going I think I will be looking more at the speedo than at the boost gauge.

Whoops, I forgot to mention that I'm almost 7 feet tall, so people a little shorter may be able to see the whole gauge with no problem.
