Thumbs up Happy "Stage One" Customer

I've recently completed the final mod in the "stage one" performace package, that being the Xcalibrator Tuner.

I used to enjoy driving my truck, but now I find every excuse I can to have to take a trip into town for something just so I can drive it. The tuner has given it plenty more pep, and the shift points are firm and powerul. I can EASILY break the tires loose from a standstill now. (I've done it once...I'd like my tires to last!) I've only had my tune installed for about 300 miles and as the computer learns more, it feels even better.

The Magnaflow and Airaid combo is great. The deep throaty sound it makes at idle and cruising sounds tough, while WOT is music to my ears.

I know there have been many other threads/posts similar to this, but I'm just another very happy customer that is recommending these 3 mods to anyone and everyone who's financial situation allows it. I just got a new digital camera today, and I'll try to post pics as soon as I figure out how.

Nice upgrades, something I am looking into. So you're not one of the guys who think the Airaid is too loud?

The Xcalibrator rocks huh.
If you haven’t changed your serpentine belt yet you’ll probably want to put a Gatorback on to stop the belt squeal on the wide-open up-shifts.

I have the Xcalibrator too and I'm very happy .

I have 2 tunes : One for regular gas with rev limiter moved from 5250 RPM to 6300 RPM , shift point has been changed and A/Fuel .

You can feel a big difference , it's a different truck .

I did not try the 2nd tune yet , it's made to run with 91+ Octane so I will wait for the summer to come to try it.

I will go to the track this spring just to compare : stock VS 1st tune VS 2nd tune just to see if the ET will be different .

I have the SCT 1714, the 87 octane tune went unnoticed but the 91+ octane tune is awesome. For only a couple bucks more at fill up its worth it. I am getting the magnaflow this summer. You guys are all for the Airraid systems? What about K&N FIPK or AF1. I want performance, not looks.
Next install are the skid plates from procomp though.
Glad to hear you all like the Magnaflow, Tuner, Intake setups.

5250rpm to 6300rpm? My max-performance 93-octane tune shifts at 5250rpm. I didn’t know the 5.4L 3-valve could rev to 6300rpm

Talking Early Stage 1

Mine was an early stage 1 where I sent my PCM to Troyer for the tune. Have now upgraded to the 9300 and some other add on goodies and could not be happier.

One thought here is I can't imagine your original RPM at over 5K and now at 6300??? What ya using for a tach? My original factory tune only allowed rpm to hit about 4800 and now shifts 5300 to 5400. I have an Autometer tach and my Scanguage and they both track the same rpm.

Also someones concern about intake performance, not looks. Well you can't get better performance at this time than an Airaid and thats per Troyer due to their extensive involvement in design and testing. Sure some others look shiny and slick but that plain black tube really ROCKS! Don't look that bad either.

I'm using the stock tach , can be off a bit but not by much .

If I can find someone to video tape the tach while I'm WOT , I will post the footage , I will need someone to host it tho....

I'll try to do it this week end.
