New mod...Tinted Taillights

Just wanted to share the mod that I did last weekend. Finally got some pics up of them. I used nite shades tint, 3 coats, and then had them professionally cleared. I think they came out great. Let me know what you guys think!

I also did the third brake light also, but have to get a new seal before I can put that on, I got one off ebay and tinted it. Plus I am waiting until my rear window gets replaced for the annoying squeak, then my cover will be off, give easier access to the light.

I had them clearcoated at a body shop with auto body clearcoat, instead of buying spray can clear. My uncle runs this autobody shop, and he sprayed them with some of his best clearcoat. I figured they would look much better clearcoated with a profession spray gun rather than a spray can. Thanks for the comments.

That's pretty hot. How does it affect the light output of the lights now? I absolutely hate those ghay plasic covers that block 80% of the light from taillights/headlights... they should be illegal.

WHY?

Does the light glare through and burn your eyes?

At least the job you did looks of great quality though.

A+ for the effort.

i tinted mine as soon as i got the truck, but i taped off the reverse lens, gives it a neat look and you can still see going backwards

They are illegal. If you look at the box it says "For off road use only." I agree, they look like chit.

BTW ROBOOTS21- Very nice mod, it looks great!

Oh yes, they are illegal, but that is why I picked a set of lights on ebay and did those, just in case I get the cop that decides to be a ***** about it. The light output is still the same. I put the backup lights on and my brother checked them out before and after, said it is basically the same output. I have had a couple of my buddies with F150's comment on how nice they looked. I am really happy with the lights themselves, and now just contemplating the black headlights on ebay to complete the look.....
