problems with fx4 in 4wd. and photos in glamis
in 4wd my truck seems to have no power, it feels like my computer is not letting my truck rev and thus it feels like there is no power. a nissan titan made it to the top of oldsmobile hill in glamis with the same size tires and his truck was stock besides the lift and tires and my truck barely made it half way. i love my truck but if this problem can not be resolved soon its, up for sale. my FORD should never be beatin by NISSAN.
ill also note that in 2wd in the sand my truck revs freally and runs awesome, but in 4wd its a dog, the power is there just not being applied.
i am currently changing my gears, but i will note that my truck did this before the larger tires
these pictures are in glamis from presidents day weekend. i knw that i would get stuck and thats why i went for it

I have noticed simular issue. There is a nice hill here that Dodge and Ford owners try to climb when we get a good foot of snow. Pretty steep hill.
I lock 'er in 4WD, and ***** can it, my truck on the incline will stay at 3000 RPM's and not go any higher. It is enough to spin the tires(33" BFG's) all the way up the hill and get me to the top (every time of course)....but when i have the pedal to the floor, i would assume i should be able to get more than 3000 out of the thing. That is with the 87 octane program with superchips...
Anyone else come across this issue?

we have some serious hills in town and ive taken both of the steepest hills in town with a ton of snow on them, had no problems at all, truck went right up, no problems with loss of power, i would take it to the dealer an have it checked out, the only scary thing about these hills are their only wide enough for one vehicle, so if a plow was to come down, that would hurtttt

Looks sweet. Wish I was there. I did some mini wheeling yesterday at Carnegie OHV while I was taking a break from Dirt Biking.
Question about your setup. How's the articiulation with the daystar lift? I ask because I have the 35's with the daystar and I hit fender with ANY articulation. Now that you have more room, does it still flex well considering the springs are preloaded ?
Thanks.
I'm asking because I'm going to be getting a 6" lift and I want to know if I should take out the daystar or leave it in.

This was a problem that was originally addressed by the guys at "4 Wheeler" magazine when they test drove the 04 in late 2003. They complained that their test F-150 would not wind up, lose power, and even stall while descending steep hills.
I don't know what your build date was, but it seemed to be an issue with some of the first builds.
I took mine up some pretty steep hills while hunting last December, and gave it a workout all around, but had no problems anywhere. I just figured that they had addressed the power loss problem by the time my truck was built (Dearborn, March 2004).
I'd take yours to a dealer.

no tried it in 4hi and 4lo, same problem, it moves but not "winding" up enough. thing is i know the power is defenitly their. i was thinking maybe it was that sequntial 4wd crap or something but i thought that was only in 4lo.
cause when im in 2wd and get on it i can hear my engine just rev up and go, but not in 4wd
