Vortech supercharger for our trucks.

Here you go ladies...

http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/news/2004_f150.html

For Immediate Release

2004 FORD 3v F-150 SUPERCHARGING SYSTEM*

Channel Islands, CA (February 16, 2005)-Vortech Engineering, LLC announces the introduction of the supercharging system for the 2004 Ford F-150 truck with the 24 valve engine.

This aftercooled system will increase horsepower and torque from 300/365 stock to 429/473 supercharged**.

The system includes an integrated dual-pass air/water charge cooling configuration, which features a closed loop water cooling system with a stand-alone pump, tank and front mounted heat exchanger. All components needed to bolt the system to a stock vehicle, such as billet aluminum mounting brackets, fuel system upgrade including high-flow fuel replacement injectors, supercharger oil feed and drain, compressor bypass valve and all required fasteners are included. Engine management will be handled by a Diablo Predator which has many functions including data logging. The installation allows retention of all factory accessories including A/C and power steering. A satin or polished finish and there is a three-year limited warranty on the supercharger.

*Legal in California only for racing vehicles which may never be used upon a highway. Please note that as of 2/16/05, we have only verified computer codes GKH6, GKH7, PTN1 and MHR4. Please call if you have a different ECM number. **Supercharged horsepower and torque data shown is a calculated estimate based on percentage increases from actual rear wheel hp/tq measurements.

Part # 4FN218-020SQ 2004 24v F-150 (satin) Suggested Retail Price: $4,895.95

Part # 4FN218-028SQ 2004 24v F-150 (polished) Suggested Retail Price: $5,159.95

Thanks for the info PORKCHOP!

Us "Ladies" have been looking at all the possible S/C options for our beasts, and this one looks pretty good!

I would be ready to order the Whipple, Vortech, Paxton, Keene-Bell, or whatever else is on the market in a heartbeat!
However, as much as the Roush unit sucks (as far as HP gains go), it does offer compliance with the factory warranty, if you buy it and have it installed at a Ford Roush dealer. So........

They have got us by the *****!

From what I hear, Roush is updating their S/C unit for our trucks and will have a new and improved version for next year.

I am waiting for the "Perfect" unit to surface, before I spend my hard earned $5K.

Again, thanks for the info and lets all get the best S/C possible for our beasts!

"Engine management will be handled by a Diablo Predator"

I question that - Diablo can’t even take the speed limiter off the 04’s

I am waiting for the KB. I think the gains for the Rousch are at 6# of boost, while all others are at 8#. That is roughly 20hp difference. The other difference is the tune. I would believe the Rousch is more mild, since the factory warranty is still intact.

Anyway, I would take twin screw over centrifugal any day for these trucks.

Unhappy Not for daily drivers

The following quote says it all...

*Legal in California only for racing vehicles which may never be used upon a highway.

So where do that leave us daily drivers who would consider a supercharger in our mods plan?

BUMMER

I recently had a conversation w/ a Vortech rep who brought in an 05 Mustang GT which was used on an upcoming Motor Trend feature and he was the one who actually mentioned the release of an application for the F-150. They are in the process of applying for CARB exemption.

Well I hear the only things in Texas are steers and queers. J/K.. If my fiance would move to Texas I'd be there in a heart beat. I was looking at the prices of homes and it's dirt cheap compared to here in Cali. But then again, which state isn't chaper than Cali?

You think prices in Cali are bad, you should see what homes go for here on Long Island.

Then again, the high real estate costs in Cali and NY are somewhat balanced out by higher wages and more opportunity.

True True, but then again, that's because everything has to be shipped there.
