Bad vibration (sometimes)
Vibration
Hey all, 2004 f150 4x4 supercrew here. I have 20k miles on my truck and had the vibration severely for the first time the other day. Whole truck shook badly exactly like some are describing. I Immediately pulled over, and when I came to a stop, I noticed my e-brake light flash on for a moment. I reached down and pulled the release lever and lifted up on the e-brake pedal with my foot to make sure the brake was totally disengaged. I then pulled back out into traffic and the truck has been fine since.
I think some, but not all of us are definately experiencing some sort of ebrake malfunction

shaking
Same problem here. The Ford tech dept. replaced the e-brake assembly and did some grinding on 2 weeks ago and have not had a problem with the shaking since and I use my e-brake about everyday. This is a tsb from ford.
I also experienced this shaking while driving. Would begin to shake until I thought the truck was going fall apart. I took it to the dealer and they rebalanced all 4 tires. Haven't had problem return since. Might be the tires they're putting on them. Love my truck but after only 8000 miles on it it is showing signs of falling apart. Just yesterday the tilt steering lever came off in my hand.
I just started to get this terrible vibration within the last 200 miles. it hits at 30mph every time! and is very violent (seats shake, windshield wipers etc...) i'm at 10,400 miles + now and it had always been smooth as glass. I pulled over just tonight and put the vehicle in reverse and backed up about 10 feet pulled it into gear and it was fine for the rest of the drive. I use my ebrake everytime i get out of the vehicle, but after this occurence tonight i'm going to try not to use the brake for the next few days to see how it does. goes in monday to have them check the ebrake system even though it was in the shop yesterday and they said it was fine.....
i think once i hit 36,005 miles they will agree to start fixing things

Is there anyone that has or can get a copy of the TSB for this prob and post it here. Or you can email it to me. I am having this problem and can't get it to happen when the Ford guys are in the truck with me of course.
I've got the same problem, just started a week ago and I can 100% confirm it is the E-brake! I havent had time to fix mine yet, hopefully will tear into it this weekend. There is a very informative post on here about how to fix it, seems theres a pivot piece that attaches to the shoes that corrodes and freezes up. I'll do a search in a minute and find the post. For those that keep saying its got to be the tires, clutch packs, etc.. the next time yours vibrates bad, pull off the road and immediatley get out and feel your back wheels. I will gaurantee you that one will be hot as heck! plus you will notice a smell coming from the brake.

Mine has been doing the same thing since I bought it about 4 years ago and it comes & goes. It tends to quit before I can figure it out but this time I did a little more reading, thanks to you guys. It started about a month ago and it's been happening off & on. I managed to get it to act up last night going home but of course not today when it went to the garage. I had called my mechanic and told him about the above post and problem. Sure enough, they found that the expander cam was froze up on one side. Seems that it is the typical e-brake problem that everyone has had! But hopefully it's finally cured!!!
