HAHA. Take it from me! 2 transmissions later, i don't recommend it either. My 04 is begging me to be nice to it!

Its not normal......... i have talked to 3 different people, and they have had to send there superchips back to them, and get the tuner reflashed for this problem... iam goin to call superchips today about it... i know some of u all think it suppose to do this, but even if it did, i would still take it off. there;s no way it can be good for it... even if i put a Supercharger on my truck, and it made it do it, i would take it off.... if a tuner suppose to make it do that, then put up a truck with it, and one with out it, and see how long the both last, cause no one can say that a motor reving that dang high, and the motor colder than crap. can be good..... So if superchips tells me it suppose to do this, then it aint goin back on... but they should reflash it, cause they've done it to 3 people i know......

Do ya know of a way of reflashing the unit besides sending it to SuperChips with a check for $12.50?

I got a RMA number from superchips for the return/reflash but haven't sent it in yet.

I need to send mine back because i have the early program for the tuner, and the dealership reflashed my PCM to the latest program and superchips don't recognise it.

That issue has been discussed dead in the past, but i didn't have it done before cuz i had an old version of the PCM flash.

Pg 186 of your F150 manual says:

Important safety precautions
A computer system controls the engine’s idle revolutions per minute (RPM). When the engine starts, the idle RPM runs higher than normal in order to warm the engine. If the engine idle speed does not slow down automatically, have the vehicle checked.

Also, pg 260 states (also note, I assume that reprogramming the PCM would be similar to disconnecting the battery in this paragraph):

Because your vehicle’s engine is also electronically controlled by a
computer, some control conditions are maintained by power from thebattery. When the battery is disconnected or a new battery is installed, the engine must relearn its idle and fuel trim strategy for optimum driveability and performance. To begin this process:
1. With the vehicle at a complete stop, set the parking brake.
2. Put the gearshift in P (Park) (automatic transmission) or the neutral position (manual transmission), turn off all accessories and start the engine.
3. Run the engine until it reaches normal operating temperature.
4. Allow the engine to idle for at least one minute.
5. Turn the A/C on and allow the engine to idle for at least one minute.
6. Drive the vehicle to complete the relearning process.
• The vehicle may need to be driven 10 miles (16 km) or more to
relearn the idle and fuel trim strategy.
• If you do not allow the engine to relearn its idle trim, the idle
quality of your vehicle may be adversely affected until the idle
trim is eventually relearned.
If the battery has been disconnected or a new battery has been installed, the clock and the preset radio stations must be reset once the battery is reconnected.

I am not sure what date the new PCM flash came out, but, there is a TSB out i know, if your truck is stalling, the dealer is to reflash the PCM to the newest program to resolve the issue.

Anyone know the date of build they started using the new flash program?
