Angry Chrome Rusting

Ya, Im damn ticked right now. I look at my rims today and see some rust on one of them. Ok, I figgure they just need polish or something. Then I look at my rear bumper and its got tons of little rust spots on the chrome. This is bull, the damn truck is 5 months old for gods sake. My ranger is a 97 and I dont see crap like this.

I'm calling my dealer monday and I want them to take care of this. Has anyone had experence with this problem yet and what did the dealer do for you. Im F-in ticked, if it looks like this now what will it look like in 10 years?

Have you tried using chrome polish on the ruff areas, sometimes that will shine it up nicely? Only chrome polish will do it right, wax won’t work

Oh yea, and take a picture for us.

The point is I should not need to polish 5 month old chrome when my 8 year old ranger that has gone months and months covered in salt for years has only been polished once and that was for a truck show.

I dont want damn bumpers I need to polish every 2 months. The reason I wanted chrome over painted bumpers is because paint chips and they rust. so now I got chrome thats rusting already and its bull****. Its clear to me Ford must have used cheep chrome on these bumpers. No other ford I have or had has ever rusted like this within 5 months.

Im takeing it in, I want it noted so down the line if they get really bad they cant screw me. If there POS chrome job will not last I will get these re-chromed myself and force them to pay the bills because I did not buy a $30,000 truck to have it look like crap.

EDIT: Pics tommarow, its to dark right now.

SEE THIS THREAD

I have a hunch that you're seeing the result of rail shipment...

Let me know what you discover...

Thanks for that RP.

I will look at the ticket tommarow (Its in the truck and I dont feel like going outside). Thing is my truck is from dearborn and Im in Clevleand and it was a special order so I dont see why they would rail it 3 hours.

Eather way I dont want to deal with it, I should not have to, plus I want my service advisor to note it in case it comes back.

I will say clay bars are great things. I did the ranger this summer and WOW, the paint had not looked that good in years.

Thanks again.
