Dark Shadow Gray vs Oxford White
#31
Guess I have had just about every color of Ford truck ever on the market in the last 30 years. So far, one of my favorites is the dark metallic gray. Mine was dark gray two tone with silver and I will always think the dark gray was easier to maintain and clean than the silver part of it.
We have also had many white trucks. Ford's bright oxford white is just about impossible to beat in terms of low maintenance and brilliant shine, even when abused. But, if you don't mind cleaning it and waxing it - the dark gray is simply beautiful and to my eye, elegant. Add in a little silver to the bottom and have a really lovely vehicle to appreciate.

the best of both worlds: two tone! we had a dark gray focus for 50K miles, and honestly, the color sort of started to wear on me a bit, so much so in fact that I will never get a dark grey car again. i would go with white, or my first choice (but not my wife;s whose truck it is ) would have been a two tone true blue.

no DSG
I just got rid of a 3 y.o. Chevy sub. it was dirty all the time showed spider webs in the paint and its softer than white.
I would never buy that color again, ford, chevy.....whatever.
Dont do it.

That's a sharp looking truck, but my dilemma was that I'm not wild about the tan two-tone bottom and I wanted a Lariat with black leather. I didn't think that the tan bottom and the black interior would look right. If I could have got the Bright Red mono tone or Bright Red with the Dark Grey two tone on the Lariat, I would have been tickled crapless. I'm still thinking about getting the bottom painted a dark gray.
1969Mach,
Red over DSG is not an option on the Lariat. Your stuck with the Tan.
It still kind of floors me, $40,000 you should be able to get any color ford has to offer. What's it really matter if it's an XLT,FX4 or a Lariat. Yes, I know why they really do it, I'm just venting.

Another vote for white here. After 3 trucks that were black, white is by far easier to take care of. If your going to use your truck as a truck any of the dark colors will show the use much faster. After looking at all the galleries I don't think the truck looks bad in any of the color choices.

lanceparkhurst,
beautiful truck! very nice taste.
my vote is for dark shadow grey. for me, less white trucks is better.
the oxford white/dark shadow grey is a great combination if i must say so.

my vote is for white, had to have the Lariat with the MPG trip computer, mirror mounted turn signals and especially heated seats. in 04, Lariats weren't available in silver or dsg, even if they were I would've had to go with the white. I do really like the white over dsg on the FX4's though. I had a white 89 for 15 years and waxed it maybe once a year and washed it less than once a month, the paint looked brand new when I sold it. like the saying goes "if you ain't white (paint), you ain't right". just kidding, dsg, silver and red are really sharp too.
