uncomfortable seats

I am trying to find either a replacement seat bottom ( factory grey cloth) or a good upholesterer....

Make sure your seat back is tilted fore/aft enough. IIRC, the angle between your thighs and torso should be about 110 degreees.
Are you slouching?

First things first, make sure you're sitting close enough (or far enough) from the pedals to distribute your weight properly on your legs.

Thanks for the tips. At 6'5", I usually sit all the way back, or about 1" up on the power seat. I do recline the seat to about where you suggest, as these things I have discovered also over the past 30 years of back problems. The seat is just shaped horrible, not like a bucket seat should be.

I have yet to find a way to get comfortable in my 2004 XLT's power seats. Definitely too stiff, and not contoured like you'd expect a bucket seat to be. I've always been a Ford only person, but I actually like the seats in my neighbors 2004 GMC Sierra better...
While I'm crying... I also don't understand the size of person that Ford had in mind when they designed the power adjustable pedals. If they'd go closer to the floor, then I could see them actually being useful.
Ahhhh, What a good whine session does for you...

2004 SCrew Lariat loaded with over 15,000 miles. Take your time they are the best seats I have ever owned in a vehicle on long trips other than my 1974 OLDS 98 Regency.
I was on drugs in those days, so my judgement may have been a little.
Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaa they where comfortable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Although I did sleep a lot in the back seat...... DOH
