I can still buy Motorcraft 5W 20 for $1.52/qt. at Wal-Mart and get a FL820S oil filter for $2.97 too. It’s going to be a sad day when they discontinue the Motorcraft line.

Dealer Oil, Filter $27.00

Net savings DIY $7.32
Take it to Uncle Ed's for full service w/ M1 SuperSyn... $75

Net savings DIY = $55.32

Time it takes to DIY = nearly and hour or more(this includes the actual oil change, getting the supplies, and performing all other tasks that Uncle Ed does: check air pressure, fill washer fluid, check all other fluids, light check, vacume, etc... )

Time it takes Uncle Ed's crew: 10-15 minutes depending how many folks are working.

Time saved via Uncle Ed: roughly 45 minutes.

My hourly wages wasted if I did it myself: Equal to or more than the $55 I saved DIY.... time is money people! And I didn't get my hands dirty. That's 45 minutes I could be having fun, getting wasted, or posting stupid things on this site.

At $7.32 an hour, the 45 minutes may be a toss up for a lot of folks. Personally it's worth the peace of mind I get by doing it myself. But I bet there's not a whole lot of people here who make more than $150k per year! Are they hiring where you work????

By the way, it's February! Do you still have your lights up at home too?!? JK

I know Mobil is making the new 5w20 oil, but I can't find it anywhere.
Anyone found some on the shelves yet?

I have been using Royal Purple, stuff is great. I read somewhere you can go 4,000 miles between oil changes, but I always change it at 3,000. I will say it's a little pricy (about $6.50 qt), but I feel it's well worth it. I buy from Hiperfuels , same stuff we use on the race car (Realride Racing) ). Anyone else use Royal Purple?
