New FX4

Hello!! I am looking at a new FX4 at the dealer. Are there any options that you wish you had gotten when you bought your F150? THANKS, MH

Well I have a 05 and the only thing I wish I have got was the audiophile system. Other than that and the Adjustable pedals were the only things I did not get.

Hello MHK... first and foremost, welcome to f150online.com and best of luck with your upcoming purchase!

Secondly, in hindsight, I can't think of anything that I wished I would've purchased that I didn't. I did, however, buy more truck than I probably need by getting skid plates and power adjustable pedals. Neither will likely ever be used but, as nominal as the price was for those two options, I just couldn't see ordering one because the truck had everything, to the 't', that I would've bought if I had ordered it.

Again, best of luck with your decision!

The only thing I wish I would have gotten is a crew cab. I also wish I had the in dash computer thing like the Lariat. Hmmm... okay maybe those dual zone automatic temperature controls... Doah!

Don't get me wrong, I love my truck! FX4 rocks!

I have most everything on mine you can get, but I do wish I had heated seats now. With all of this cold weather hitting us, those seats get pretty cold.

The adjustable pedals are great for my wife seeing that she is only 5 foot and they go far enough down that me being 6 foot it is still comfortable.

I'd a jumpped on a 5ft Scab, but I heard Ford only built 6-8% of the 150's that way.. I couldn't find one looking for 2 months..

I got the reverse sensors on mine and have not regretted it one bit. With the taller bed they come in handy.

I wished I had scrapped the roof bins and got the sun roof instead. That's about all I would change now.

Of course, I have basically made my FX4 look like a XLT now, but oh well. I didn't care for the bar grille that comes with the FX4, so I bought an XLT one off of eBay, and voila, I'm happy.

Good luck!

MHK,

Welcome aboard!!! I selected my FX4 from "the lot" and it was the only Blazing Yellow 2004 FX4 Screw left within 200 miles (at the time).

I wish it would have had:

1. Deluxe mirror package (especially the turn signals & heated mirrors)
2. Reverse Sensing System (I will add aftermarket eventually)
3. Rear defrost in lieu of the power rear slider (sounds dumb on a truck, but my 2003 SCrew had it and I used it plenty).
4. 17" wheels (for tire choices, until the tire companies catches up) I like my stock FX4 wheels and don't plan to change so the 17" would have been better for me

I have the Audiophile, moonroof, leather seats, and 3.73 LS. Everything else I want(ed) were easy add-ons (step rails, Bedrug, window visors, grill guard etc). Good luck - you can't go wrong with the FX4.

When I got my truck I wish I had gotten the reverse sensing system. But, I have since installed a Kenwood DVD head unit and installed a rear-view camera, so it worked out in the end anyway. With the height of the tailgate, a reverse sensing system could definitely come in handy when trying to parallel park are back up.

if you like sound get the audiophile because the regular sound sucks.

I went aftermarket on everyhting and it is cheaper though. and better.

I wish I would have got a Lariat, NOT, oops wrong thread
Seriously, the reverse sensing system would have been nice.
Did get the power slider though and it, like the FX4, rocks

I wish I had a power rear sliding window. I have a Supercab and it's a bitch to reach back and open that thing while driving.

Options in order of favor and use...

Reverse Sensing is easily #1 (This if my 1st truck and option helps me with parking quite a bit)
Audiophile
Sunroof and auto rear sliding window
Heated leather seats (makes the wife happy)

Can you get heated leather seats on the FX4? Thought it was only available on the Lariat.
