I didn't get the RSS or the power pedals, or power rear window.
The first 2 I wish I had. The rear window I would have been happy with a solid window instead of a slider.

I would definatly get the tow package even if you don't tow, because of the better cooling system, and such.

I have everything except RSS and Power Pedals.

RSS is useless to me, I drive a rig so backing up my truck is easy for me.

Power Pedals, I should have gotten for the wife, She is 5 foot nothing. But in hindsight, the less comfortable she is driving my truck the better.

Other than that, get the tow package and if you can get the sunroof.

With all 4 windows down, the rear slider and the sunroof open, it feels like a convertable, somewhat.

In the 2004 model I don't believe heated seats were an option in the FX4. Not sure if Ford changed that or not.

For my wife's sake, I would have like the heated seat (just the passenger side ).

Other than that my truck was optioned out very well and there's nothing else I'd have ordered.

Mine is a 5.5ft SCAB which is about 3 options away from the way I would have ordered one. I would like to have the mirror package and maybe the Audiophile. Have not heard one to actually tell if there is a worthwhile difference.

Mine has the flow through console with Flint cloth captains chairs. The flint looks good now, but I am concerned about staining so I would probably go with the black cloth. Leather is too hot here in the summer. Also, I would have gone with the bench for a little more open feeling ancd cost saving.

No matter what you go with, you will enjoy the truck!

The only thing I'd add to mine - and it depends where you live - is the rear window defroster.

must haves - reverse sensors / moonroof / bench seats (flow thru eats too much space and the shifter looks cheap) / fabric seats (leather is cheap and $$$) / sliding rear window

When I got my truck, I spent months of searching for the truck that I wanted. I figured that if I am going to spend that much money, it better have what I want. Finally I searched for trucks on the ford website and saw a truck that had everything I wanted, needless to say I went straight to the dealership while they were still preping it for the lot. Cant say how thrilled I am because it has everything I wanted and evertyhing I didnt want. Just make sure you get all that you want, there is no sense in spending that much and not getting what you want. Thats my 2 cents.

I got it loaded with everything but the leather seats (okay, if a dvd player was an option, I didn't get that, but I'm not sure if that was available on the FX4). The rear sensors and adjustable pedals are soooooo worth the money. I do wish now that I had gotten the leather seats. I have the flint grey premium sport cloth and it shows every little thing. Stains like mad. I've never had a problem like this in almost 25 years of auto ownership. But I do love my truck and I hope you will love yours, too.

Exclamation reverse sensors

hey- getting an FX4 in may- But words of wisdom, weve got a 05 250 SD KingRanch w/ the sensors in Montana- if its cold out (under frz) the sensors get fogged then freeze creating a constant beep until you hit the button...
