Thumbs up Proud Ford owner

Ya i just got in one big argument with my two uncles. They are both big chevy guys and my dad and i are all about ford. After having a few beers we got on the subjects of trucks. Well after having enough of their bull**** about how much their chevy can do i finally decided to take a stand and back up my ford. I am proud of this website for everything i have learned about ford and what its capabilities are. My dad finaly made me move out of the room because i was getting so p*ssed off. They couldnt compare truck to truck at all. They were coming up with the most fricken retarded things to compare...like jeff gordon and me racing on a race track..and that jeff woujld win in a chevy. WELL DUH. Put jeff in a ford and he will lick my @ss. All they could say is that chevy has a higher resale value. They kept ignoring me and how ford has the numbers and statistics to prove what their capabilities are. So all in all i thank this website for better education me to stand up for my ford truck. Im proud to be part of this website and a proud ford owner.

Who else can stand up for what they own?

hehe, I've seen those arguments between owners of all different makes/models. It canbe fun sometimes but it can get irritating when people go beyond fact into nonsense arguments (like the Jeff Gordon part of yours ). I just don't care anymore personally. I've owned a bunch of different makes/models and they all had their good/bad points. The only time I've been burned by a vehicle it was *always* on used vehicles and the problems were *always* due to neglect by the previous owner (no matter the brand).

Nowadays I only expect one thing from my vehicles and if they can do that then all of the argument in the world is moot. My vehicles need to make *me* happy .

You know, I love my truck, but if you swallow the BS in this video set you are just the kind of person that a marketing department loves. If you are willing to put up cash because of this kind of advertising, then you simply deserve to have it drained from your bank account.

For example:

One of the videos makes a big deal about the big-a$$ front fender beams the Ford has, while the others are missing this "important" structural member. Well I got news for you, the only use for the front sheet metal is to look good, hold up the lights, and to absorb energy in an impact. That's it. Having big beams means absolutely nothing in engineering terms.

Another example:

One of the videos shows the trailer hitch "system" on the Ford. Yes, there is a lot of metal there, since it also holds up the rear bumper. If I were the Chevy marketing department I would be touting that the Chevy trailer hitch was mounted to the frame and the Ford's was mounted to the bumper.

Yet another example:

The Ford shows massive bed mounting bolts compared to the competition. Unfortunately this is because the Ford has an oval frame instead of the more conventional I-beam frame and needs long-a$$ bolts to get to where the nuts can be fastened. Again, in engineering terms, this is absolutely meaningless.

This kind of subversion is rampant throughout all the video clips.

Don't get me wrong, I went out and examined the available options and decided the Ford F-150 was best for me. But I sure as Heck wouldn't make that decision based on the cr-p that a marketing department generates. These "truth" videos were hard for this engineer to watch. The truth doesn't like to be tortured like that.

Take this to your uncles...the sales go like this-Ford is #1 for 28 years in a row and counting. Dodge is second (who cares how long). Chevy/GMC is third (who cares how long). They can be proud of their trucks if they want to, as long as they are happy owning the third best truck then don't let them get to you.

As long as you know the truth!

A couple of things here. Those front support beams your flaming on are the reason these new F150's get a 5 star crash rating. A dramatic improvement over the previous generation. In engineering terms that is anything but meaningless.
Also the hitches on these trucks is not mounted to the bumper. It is attached to the frame and integrated into the bumper. Tied in at four different places. that makes for a far stronger hitch then anything offered by the compitition.

Would you trust 10,000 lbs. to a hitch held in by 4 bolts attached to the bottom of the frame? Like Chevy uses, I wouldn't.

Hey, you both own good trucks where most parts are made in America - take the arguments for the fun they can be.

Dodge and Chevy brag about resale value, If this is the case
why is every one "reselling" them, probably to buy a better procuct. It appears most Ford people keep their trucks forever.

Ya i dont understand it. The only thing u see in chevy commercials and the only thing chevy owners can talk about is resale. Thats it. My one uncle claimed his buddy sold a 1995 chevy supercab 4x4 with im guessing all the extras and the dealer have him 18,000 for his truck last summer. Now how much bs was that!!! It list out at 7 grand. Ya i told them...there is a reason why ford is the number one selling truck for 28 years in a row...all they could say is they are a cheap made truck. HAHA wow. Also i mentioned how when you read in any truck magazine they say chevys 5.3 is underpowered and that ford is one of the best trucks out their. They just say ford pays the magazine to make that up. Every chevy owner i know can only put down ford to make themselves look good because they have nothing good to say about their own trucks. Amen. lol

im glad chevy has a higher resale value......when i traded my 02 silverado for my new F150 they did give me more than i owed....i dont plan on selling my Ford after 2 years like i did the chevy...

if your uncle still says they have better resale tell him to use that and get rid of it and buy the BEST truck on the road.....the FORD F150 !!!
