F-150 width and my garage...
I'm wondering if anyone had the *actual* width of the '04-'05 F-150 with mirrors included. Those mirrors are beautiful but seriously large.
Also, does the deluxe mirror package allow the mirrors to be folded in by power?
I am extremely interested in the F-150 especially after checking it out at the dealer and I'm just wondering what sort of concessions I will have to make in terms of fitting this beast in my garage. After checking the comparisons on Ford's site I realized its within an inch of the F-250 in almost every dimension (comparing Super Cab models with 6.5'/6.75' beds).

About the 'deluxe mirror package'... that basically adds heat and, maybe, power adjustment. The King Ranch Edition, right now, is the only F150 that comes with power fold mirrors.
There are currently a few members here working on performing this modification to their existing mirrors though. I haven't been following it very close but, I'd suggest running a quick search or two to learn about their progress. I believe that Bob Chapman (username) is leading the pack on getting this from drawing board to reality at the moment...

Re: Re: F-150 width and my garage...
Thanks for the information!
I wish I could use this as leverage to the wifey to shoot for the King Ranch model. I'm pretty sure I'd catch a healthy beating though. Actually she'd probably go for it but I'm pretty sure my budget can't quite accomodate that at this point. I'm looking at XLTs mostly. I'll poke around and see how the fearless mirror modders are faring in their efforts.

As for total width with the mirrors extended, I don't have that information...

This truck with mirrors has to be just about 8 foot wide.
I never measured, but I have almost cliped them going through one of those older covered McDonalds DTs.
they stick out about a foot. There big.

One easy way to check is go to the dealer and on test drive tell the salesman you need to make sure the truck fits your garage.
This is a win win as you will definitely know the mirrors clear and probably get a longer drive at the same time...
